Account Overview

The Account Overview includes separate SUMMARY and TRENDS views.

Summary

The Summary view displays each character’s last known gold balance and all-time net profit or loss.

Click the CHARACTER, CURRENT, or NET column heading to sort the list. Click the active heading again to reverse the sorting direction.

  • CHARACTER: Sort alphabetically by character name
  • CURRENT: Sort by the character’s last known gold balance
  • NET: Sort by the character’s all-time net profit or loss

The active column is highlighted, and its sorting direction is displayed beside the heading.

Trends

The Trends view combines recorded activity from all tracked characters and displays:

  • Gold earned, spent, and net change today
  • Gold earned, spent, and net change over the last 7 days
  • Gold earned, spent, and net change over the last 30 days
  • Average daily net change over the last 30 days
  • Best-performing day from the last 30 days
  • A seven-day net chart showing positive and negative daily movement

Green chart bars represent a positive net change, while red bars represent a negative net change. Hover over any bar to see the exact date and the gold earned, spent, and net change for that day.

Trend data is retained for a rolling 90-day period.

Trend history begins accumulating after installing a version that supports trends. Existing all-time totals are preserved, but previous activity cannot be assigned retroactively to individual dates.

Controls

  • Left-click minimap button: Open or close the tracker
  • Right-click minimap button: Reset statistics for the current character
  • Drag minimap button: Reposition it around the minimap
  • SUMMARY: View account totals and the sortable character list
  • TRENDS: View recent account-wide gold activity and the seven-day chart
  • /goldtracker or /gt: Open or close the tracker
  • /gt reset: Reset statistics for the current character
  • ESC: Close the main window

Tracking Behavior

On a character’s first login, their existing gold is recorded as the starting balance and is not counted as earned. After that, changes to their balance are automatically categorized as gold earned or spent.

Session statistics reset when logging in. All-time statistics and daily trend history remain saved until manually reset.

Resetting statistics clears the current character’s session totals, all-time totals, and trend history. Statistics for other characters are not affected.

Gold transferred between your own characters may appear as spending on one character and earnings on another. Once both sides of the transfer have been recorded, they should generally offset each other in the account-wide net trend.

Basic Gold Tracker uses only Blizzard’s built-in APIs, keeping the addon small and self-contained.
