Description

Short summary: Shows where you are in Eclipse and how strong the Balance Druid Season 2 4-piece bonus is right now, plus when the next peak comes.

EclipseTide: Eclipse timing for Balance Druid (Midnight 12.1)

The Season 2 4-piece (Akil'zon's Clarity) raises your damage by up to 10% during Eclipse. The bonus drops to 2% at the midpoint and climbs back to 10% by the end. EclipseTide draws that curve as a timeline bar so you can time Starsurge and Starfall for the peaks.

  • One column for each second of your Eclipse. Height and color show the bonus: gold is peak, red is trough. A marker moves across to show where you are now.
  • A large number shows the current bonus %. Countdowns read PEAK 1.6s or peak in 3.2s.
  • A sound plays when the peak at the end of Eclipse starts. It's on by default, and there's an optional trough sound.
  • Covers Solar and Lunar Eclipse (15s), Celestial Alignment (15s) and Incarnation (20s).
  • Dims to "NO ECLIPSE" when you're not in Eclipse.

Works in combat, M+ and raids. WoW 12.x hides your buffs from addons during combat, but it still reports your own casts. EclipseTide times Eclipse from those casts. Out of combat, when the real buff is readable, it lines its timer up with the buff.

Getting started

  • /etide test: preview a 15s Eclipse (/etide test 20 for Incarnation)
  • /etide unlock, drag the bar into place, then /etide lock
  • /etide calibrate: out of combat with the 4-piece on, press an Eclipse. The addon compares its numbers with the real buff.

Options

  • /etide peak <3-10> and /etide trough <2-9>: where the peak and trough zones start (defaults 8% and 4%)
  • /etide lead <0-3>: play the peak sound this many seconds early
  • /etide sound tail|trough on|off|<sound> and /etide sound test tail
  • /etide scale, width, height, idle: size, and how visible the bar is outside Eclipse
  • /etide status and /etide reset

Limits: In combat, the addon can't tell if an Eclipse ends early; dying is handled. The bonus values follow SimulationCraft's model, and /etide calibrate checks them against the real buff.
