What's new

BaB XP Bar Changelog

0.2.7

Fixed

  • The party window now works with WoW Forever's surnames. Everyone in your group showed no addon, even with BaB XP Bar installed, because their name has a surname in some places (Barry Bonebags) and not in others (Barry). Players are now recognised by their character's ID instead, so it doesn't matter how their name is written, and two players with the same first name aren't mixed up.
    • Update to see everyone's bars. Players still on 0.2.5 or 0.2.6 show up too (matched by first name), but they need to update to see yours.

0.2.6

New

  • /bxp party debug checks why someone in your group shows no addon. It lists what your BaB XP Bar has sent and whether it came back, what it has heard from each player, and anything that went wrong. It also writes a line in chat for every party window message; type it again to stop.

Fixed

  • /bxp party tells you to restart the game if the party window hasn't loaded yet (a /reload isn't enough after updating), instead of doing nothing.

0.2.5

New

  • Party window. See how far through their level everyone in your group is: each player's name in their class colour, with a bar showing their level and XP, for example Lv 19 23.4%.
    • Point at a player for the same details your own bar gives you: their XP and XP to go, rested XP, XP per hour and time to level, kills to level, and where handing in their completed quests takes them.
    • Players need BaB XP Bar for their bar to fill (BaB Forever isn't needed). Anyone without it shows their level and no addon.
    • Their bars show rested XP and their completed quests in gold, like yours.
    • Move it and resize it along with the bar: /bxp unlock, then drag the window, or drag its corner for a wider window or taller rows. /bxp lock when you're done.
    • Right-click it for its settings: show yourself, bars in each player's class colour, show it when you're not in a group, width and row height.
    • Turn it on or off with /bxp party, Ctrl + left-click the minimap button, or Party window in /bxp. It only shows while you're in a group.
    • Don't want your group to see your XP? Untick Share my XP with my group and they'll see not shared.
    • Sharing BaB Forever's minimap button? XP Bar party window can be given a click in BaB Forever's Settings > Keybinds.

0.2.4

New

  • Kills to level. The bar shows roughly how many more kills like your last one you need to level, for example ~45 kills.
    • Hover the bar for your last kill (the mob and its XP), and the kills to level going by the average of your last 10 kills, which is steadier when mobs give different XP.
    • Only kills count: quest hand-ins, exploring and other XP don't change it.
    • Rested XP is included in a kill's XP, so the count rises a little when your rested XP runs out.
    • Remembered through a /reload for each character. Untick Kills to level in /bxp to hide it from the bar.

0.2.3

New

  • A glow on new XP. The XP you just gained glows brighter, then fades as the fill moves across it, and the spark at the end of the fill grows and brightens while it moves.
    • The bar flashes when you level up.
    • Don't want it? Untick Glow on new XP in /bxp.
  • Choose the bar's font. Pick from the game's own fonts (Friz Quadrata, Arial Narrow, Morpheus, Skurri and more), plus any font your other addons share, such as Plater's Expressway and Oswald, or fonts from Details, WeakAuras and ElvUI.
    • The font list shows each name in its own font, so you can see what you're picking.
    • Text size: Auto fits the text to the bar's height (as before), or set it yourself.
    • Outline: none, outline (as before) or thick.
    • If a chosen font's addon isn't loaded, the bar uses the game's font until it is.

Changed

  • The end of the XP fill is clearer. A thin dark line marks where your XP ends, so the fill stands out from the gold, blue and rested colours next to it, whatever colour you choose.
  • Marks every 5%. The bar is now split into 20 sections by thin light lines (the halfway line a little stronger), instead of 10. They're sized in real screen pixels, so they no longer fade or drop out with a UI scale below 100%.
    • Choose their colour (5% marks under Colours) and Mark opacity in /bxp.

0.2.2

Fixed

  • The game's own XP bar no longer comes back. The game fades its XP bar back in when it redraws it (after a level-up, for example), which could undo Hide the game's XP bar. It now stays hidden, and goes back to normal straight away if the game switches it to showing a reputation.

0.2.1

New

  • One BaB button on the minimap. With BaB Forever installed, BaB XP Bar's clicks join BaB Forever's minimap button and BaB XP Bar's own button is hidden.
    • Ctrl + right-click: XP Bar options. Ctrl + middle-click: quest list. Alt + middle-click: reset XP per hour. Lock / unlock the XP Bar can be given a click too.
    • Change any of them in BaB Forever's Settings > Keybinds. If one of those clicks is already in use, it starts as Not set rather than taking it over.
    • Prefer two buttons? Untick Share BaB Forever's minimap button in /bxp.
    • Needs a BaB Forever version that supports it. With an older one, or without BaB Forever, you keep BaB XP Bar's own button.

0.2.0

New

  • A modern XP bar that replaces the game's own. Flat, smooth or classic textures, a soft gloss, 10% marks and a spark that glides as you gain XP.
    • Resize it: drag its corner (type /bxp unlock first) or use the Width and Height sliders in the options.
    • Recolour it: experience, rested, completed quests, quest preview, quests in progress and the background each have their own colour. There's also a one-click Class colour XP button.
    • Move it anywhere with /bxp unlock, then /bxp lock when you're done. The first time, it sits where the game's XP bar was.
    • Text can be shown always, only on mouseover, or never.
  • See where your quests take you. Gold on the bar shows where handing in all your completed quests takes you. If it goes past the end of the level, the bar tells you which level and how far into it (for example Hand in > Lv 24 +35.2%).
  • Quest XP in the quest log. Every quest shows its XP after its name: gold when it's ready to hand in, grey while it's in progress.
    • Point at a quest to light it up in light blue on the bar, with a tooltip saying exactly where handing it in takes you.
    • Talking to a quest giver does the same for the quest they're offering or taking in.
  • Hover the bar for the full picture: XP, XP to go, rested XP, every completed quest with its XP, and where handing them all in (or finishing every quest in your log) takes you.
  • Ding! Announce your level-ups in guild chat, party chat, or both (raid chat when you're in a raid; nothing is sent when you're on your own). Off until you turn it on in the options.
    • Write your own message: becomes your new level. The default is Ding! Level .
    • The Test button (or /bxp ding) shows only you what would be sent, and where.
  • Hand-in previews use the quest log's own XP: the XP the game shows for each completed quest, added up. Quests under a collapsed heading in your quest log still count.
  • Choose which quests count. The quest list (left-click the bar, /bxp quests, Shift-click the minimap button, or Quest list in the options) shows every quest in your log with its XP: ready to hand in first, then in progress.
    • Untick a quest to leave it out of the gold hand-in preview, the in-progress bar and the tooltips. Tick it again to put it back. Tick all and Untick all do the lot.
    • Point at a quest in the list to preview it in light blue on the bar.
    • Unticked quests show (1,500 XP, off) in the quest log.
    • Your ticks are saved for each character, and forgotten once a quest leaves your log.
  • XP per hour. Hover the bar to see your XP per hour this session, the XP you've gained, how long the session has run, and how long until you level at that pace.
    • Counts every kind of XP: kills, quests, exploring, rested bonus, everything, including across level-ups.
    • A session starts when you log in and carries on through a /reload or a quick relog (under 5 minutes away).
    • Alt + left-click the bar or the minimap button (or /bxp session) to start a fresh session.
  • Minimap button with the BaB XP icon: left-click for options, Shift-click for the quest list, Alt-click to reset XP per hour, right-click to lock or unlock the bar, drag it round the minimap. Hide it in the options or with /bxp minimap.
  • Options: /bxp, right-click the bar, or left-click the minimap button.
