What's new
Version 1.8.4 — Improved Book Capture
This update focuses on making Azeroth Public Library's readable book capture system more reliable and much less intrusive.
Changes
- Improved multi-page book capture
- APL now properly captures and stores individual pages from multi-page books.
- Pages are assembled in the correct order into a single library entry.
- Completed books are now remembered
- Once APL has successfully captured an entire book, that completion state is saved.
- Reopening the same book after
/reload, logging out, or restarting WoW will no longer cause APL to scan through every page again.
- No unnecessary page flipping
- Previously captured books now open normally without APL automatically cycling through their pages.
- Improved duplicate protection
- Revisiting a captured book will not create duplicate library entries.
- Partial book recovery
- Incomplete or older captures can still be rescanned and repaired rather than requiring the existing entry to be deleted.
- Improved reading experience
- After APL captures a new multi-page book, it returns you to the page you were viewing so you can continue reading normally.
- Manual capture preserved
/apl capturecan still be used when you intentionally want APL to rescan the currently opened readable book.
Existing Users
No SavedVariables reset is required. Your existing library, notes, favorites, and other saved data are preserved.
Older book entries may require one final scan so APL can establish their new completion information. After that, APL will remember that the book has already been fully archived.
