About me:
Im Zyrraél on Twisting Neather-Eu.
I was able to fix the latest lua errors by adding BackdropTemplateMixin and "BackdropTemplate" to the frames that setbackdrop were used on
I also fixed the IsQuestFlaggedCompleted errors by replacing with C_QuestLog.IsQuestFlaggedCompleted
Not sure if you would mind me updating this to be compatible with 1.14.1 or not
In reply to fadedtimes:
Someone already did it when it needed it for TBC. See that project here. It works on TBC, Classic Era, and SOM.
I download this addon and it appears to be out dated and not working when I logged into my game. Any suggests on this?
In reply to Ciebriel79:
You are quite observant. AAP-Classic has not been touched by the developer since October 2019 and the developer has stated he will not be updating it. So it is considered frozen in time. I continue to provide support for it via the Discord (link in the description above) as the addon works for the most part. In fact, another dev has ported it to TBC and it works fine there as well.
If you need help, I recommend going to the Discord and looking through the #classic-faq and reading the pinned messages in #classic-support. That will get you through most of the problems AAP-Classic has. If you still have issues, post a message about the issue you're having and if I'm around/awake, I will help you out there.
i know that the support for classic BC is not planned, but will it be possible to keep using AAP in classic TBC for at least 1-60 leveling ?
In reply to leaprah:
It doesn't appear so. I haven't tested it myself, but reports from the discord suggest that AAP-Classic does not run at all in the Burning Crusade Classic client.
I really got a lot of use out of this, but around level 31 as a druid things got sidetracked.
I know if plenty of places to get level 28-31 content still, but the addon took me to shimmering flats... against level 34-35.
There are more quests in Hillsbrad, intro quests in Desolace, a few more in Arathi Highlands and combined they could probably get me to 33. Making the 34-35 a bit more reasonable.
In reply to AtotehZ:
Don't worry - you will get to Hillsbrad, Desolace, and Arathi Highlands as well. Shimmering Flats quests, at least the ones for Horde (I am assuming, since you did not mention), that are done around level 30-31, can easily be completed by killing mobs that are level 30-32. Just because there are mobs out there that are 34-35 that drop the quest items, doesn't mean you have to engage them. There's plenty that are lower level that will drop the items as well, at the same drop percentages.
I was questing in Stonetalon as a lvl 23 Human Paladin. I went afk, came back and AAP is completely unresponsive. Both the reset command and the skip command do nothing. Resetting states "Unhandled state of quests and zones". Skipping states "Cannot skip QuestStep". I've tried this in both Stonetalon and Ashenvale, both with the same response.
In reply to Soulfiree12:
Nevermind! Just seen the spreadsheet in the discord and read the info about the bug, completing Pridewings of Stonetalon and reloading will fix it! :D
In reply to Soulfiree12:
Hooray! Glad you found it.
So i just completed a quest and it deleted all my current quests and now i need to pick them all up again
In reply to CritzGG:
Are you Alliance level 40 in STV and just took a flight to Ironforge? If so, you're at the end of AAP's script. If not, I'll need more information about your situation. What race, class, level, where you are questing, what quest did you turn in, etc.
In reply to Pahonix:
I just did a quest in SW and was flying to Westfall, completed a quest and the quest log got wiped
I turned in a quest in sentinel hill
Race: Human
Class: Rogue
Level: 11
In reply to CritzGG:
Oh ok, yes. For Humans in Westfall, due to AAP's autoaccept, it ends up picking up a bunch of quests that you don't need, so that is correct. AAP abandons all of those quests for you.
Those quests that it abandons should be:
The People's Militia
Patrolling Westfall
Poor Old Blanchy
The Forgotten Heirloom
The Killing Fields
Goretusk Liver Pie
Westfall Stew
All Westfall quests. Because you leave Westfall at this point and only ever come back once to turn in one quest and then immediately leave again.
In reply to Pahonix:
Okay that makes sense, thanks a lot for the fast and precise answers
Btw are there anyway to change settings in aap as the retail allows you /aap
In reply to CritzGG:
No, unfortunately not. There are no settings in AAP-Classic.
Tried skipping quest 'A lost master' because I had deleted the actual quest item...(whoops) but once I tried skipping it AAP didn't show me the next step, only the arrow remained, so tried SKIP command again but to no avail, I then abandoned the quest and went to ashenvale and used /aap reset, this worked and the addon was reset but I tried skipping the quest again and sadly totally broke the addon, turning it off and on with reloadUI doesn't work, nor does reinstalling.
I picked up the quest again after all that so that I could still do the quest, but /aap reset still doesn't work and reinstalling or reloadUI doesn't work either.
How can I fully reset the addon? because I religiously followed the addon since lvl 1.
In reply to sab3rt00th:
I managed to fix it by simply turning in the quest, according to the script, which you can open through joining discord and looking at the FAQ, the quest happened to be vital for going to the next step, its why it got stuck i guess
