Auto Spell Ranks
Keeps your action bars on the highest spell rank you know. When you train a new rank, any button still holding the old one is swapped for it, in the same slot. No more casting rank 2 Frostbolt at level 30.
What it does
- Scans your bars a few seconds after login and every time you learn a spell.
- Swaps only plain spell buttons. Macros, items and empty slots are never touched.
- Only ever upgrades, never downgrades.
- Waits until you are out of combat, then does the swap.
- Reports each swap in chat, for example "Shadow Bolt -> Rank 4 (2 buttons)".
Commands
- /asr — show status
- /asr on, /asr off — enable or disable
- /asr report — toggle the chat lines
- /asr scan — check the bars right now
Notes
- Macros already cast your highest rank on their own; this addon covers the spells you dragged straight to the bar.
- Built for World of Warcraft: Forever (interface 16001). Also loads on Retail 12.1.5.
- On the Forever beta the client does not yet load addon settings between sessions, so the two options return to their defaults, both on, each login. Harmless.
