Forever Launch Countdown
A new adventure. One countdown. Be there when Forever begins.
Keep the World of Warcraft: Forever launch countdown on your screen while you play Retail, Classic Era, or TBC Anniversary. A compact display, the official Forever logo, and five milestone alerts help you keep track without cluttering your UI.
Install it, enable it, and keep playing. No dependencies or initial setup required.

- Always in sight: A minimalist countdown stays visible during normal gameplay, including combat.
- Official Forever artwork: Includes a compact version of Blizzard’s official logo.
- Five launch reminders: Alerts at 2 hours, 1 hour, 30 minutes, 15 minutes, and 5 minutes before the scheduled launch.
- Visual and audio alerts: Milestones appear in chat and as gold text on screen, with an optional warning sound.
- Ultralight: Approximately 30 KB per download, with no bundled libraries.
- Simple to position: Unlock, drag it where you want it, then lock it to let mouse clicks pass through.
- Remembers your alerts: Milestone tracking persists across reloads within each client installation.

Launch time
November 4, 2026 — 3:00 PM PST / 23:00 UTC
The countdown targets the global launch time announced by Blizzard. When that time arrives, the display changes to LAUNCH TIME.

Installation
- Download the package for your WoW client.
- Extract the ForeverCountdown folder into that client’s Interface/AddOns directory.
- Restart WoW and enable Forever Countdown in the AddOns list.
- Type /forever test to preview an alert.
The countdown appears automatically.

Position changes are available outside combat.
Lightweight by design
One update per second. No per-frame update script. No combat tracking, configuration framework, or required libraries.
The addon tracks a scheduled launch time; it does not monitor server availability. Alerts require you to be logged in with the addon running. Already-passed milestones are skipped when you first log in.
The display follows the normal game UI, so hiding your interface with Alt-Z also hides the countdown.
Testing and feedback
Validated with 100 offline assertions covering countdown formatting, milestone alerts, duplicate prevention, saved settings, late logins, and launch behavior. Actual in-game loading and rendering have not yet been verified.
If you encounter an issue, include your client, game version, and any Lua error in your report.
