Archaeology Helper accelerates your surveying by providing triangulation on a Heads-Up Display (HUD)
- Survey then press green, yellow or red button to add new sector to the HUD and narrow down the position of your fragment
- HUD optionally includes GatherMate2 pins showing possible fragment positions, further accelerating the process
- Shows Dig Sites on Battlefield Minimap
- Keybindings and various settings
How to use
Go to dig site, Right Click last button (spade) to show HUD and Left Click to cast Survay. Then ROTATE YOUR CHAR, BUT DON'T MOVE in the needed direction and press colored button according to Survey result. Move to other location, do same again.
It is strongly recommended to use in conjunction with GatherMate2, which will show all previous or imported dig-points on the HUD. When using GatherMate2 jump onto fragment before gathering! GatherMate2 data accuracy depends on that. Minimap zoom buttons also zoom the HUD display.
Controls
Left Click main window to move it
Right Click main window: opens config
Left Click on colored button: adds new sector to the HUD
Right Click on colored button: temporarily hide/show that color
Arrow button: undo last sector

Middle Click spade: open Archaeology window
Use "/arh" or "/arhcfg" for command line help
HUD
On the HUD you can also see player arrow in the center and very small red circle that represents survey success range. And ofc all colored transparent overlapping areas that were set by you with colored buttons.

Fostot's upload seems to no longer exist.
Does anybody have a copy of it they post/link?
Could someone update this for 9.0, please? I know that there will be no new Archaeology in Shadowlands, but I still enjoy doing it.
In reply to Tirasa:
Just updating the libraries from Fostot's upload was enough for me.
In reply to gendi:
This does not fix the frame issues that started in 9.0.
In reply to Tirasa:
Not sure which frame issue, but I've been using the overlay all day without issue
In reply to gendi:
The frame is invisible. This has happened to all addons across the board.
In reply to Tirasa:
Don't know what to tell you. I took Fostot's mega download and updated all the libraries in the libs folder with the latest versions and it is working fine for me
Fostot's version had stopped working in 8.3. Any champions could fix it? Please?
Man I remember using this addon ages ago. Cant anyone take it over and upload newer versions?
Whoever is misssing those blizzard_ dependencies can download it here
https://github.com/Ennie/wow-ui-source
just copy what is in the addon folder to the wow addon folder :)
And it seems kinda old stuff but works just finne.
This has been my goto addon for sometime and has always worked very well but now it doesn't work with ElvUI. Can you tell me why or am I missing something?
I love the help everyone is giving, but it is a lot to ask of people to make all of these changes. Here is a copy of the file with all of the changes already made and in working order:

In reply to Fostot:
Thanks! It should work.
In reply to Fostot:
Thank you so much, you have save me
In reply to Fostot:
Awesome!
In reply to Fostot:
Any chance you could reupload the stuff? :p Link seems to be dead.
That's the compass under HUD config. Though the success circle does the same thing (but smaller).
For newcomers:
Take the archive from Namestaken_ google drive (somewhere in the comments), then apply Nolzik's changes to arh.lua from post below. Then apply my changes from this post to the same file. This will make it work in 8.2.
Replace the lines with SPELLS\CIRCLE.BLP in arh.lua with...
Line 1711
Arh_HudFrame.SuccessCircle:SetTexture(165793)
Line: 1716
Arh_HudFrame.CompassCircle:SetTexture(165793)
In reply to Ynazar1:
Thanks to all for the help and suggestions. Unfortunately, I've downloaded and installed the updated file from Namestaken. And updated the arh.lua as per your instructions. However, I'm unable to load the addon and test as I am showing a missing dependency in the Addon List. Dependencies: Blizzard_BattlefieldMinimap. Btw, I don't have BfA and I'm wondering if that could be the issue... Thanks in advance!
In reply to locnroc:
Try the version from Fostot above. if its still doesn't work then you're outta luck probably. Sorry.
In reply to Ynazar1:
Thank you! That took care of the dependency issue when loading the UI. Haven't actually had time to go out and test the update as yet. Hope to do so this weekend and will hope for the best.
However it turns out, thanks again Ynazar1, Fostot and everyone else for the suggestions!...
