Ant Trail v0.38.43 

This is one of our largest updates yet! Since our last public release, we've introduced new character statistics, Colony Sigils, major map improvements, and additional safeguards to protect your character's history.

New Features

Ant Panel

• An optional, Warcraft-style information bar with Mini, Compact, and Full layouts.
• Track XP/hour, recent leveling pace, estimated time to level, gold earned, playtime, and fishing activity.
• See how far you've traveled on foot and how many confirmed adventurers you've encountered this session.
• Revisit your latest recorded memory directly from the panel.
• Enable and customize it through Home → Field Tools.

Colony Sigils

• Regional Colony emblems can now appear on supported player, target, party, and raid frames.
• See the Colony identities shared by fellow Ant Trail users in your current group.
• Group-only Colony sharing can be controlled or disabled through Settings.

Field Readiness

• New Home-screen diagnostics display recording activity and map-addon information.
• Read-only save integrity checks help identify potential issues.
• Improved Field Ledger error reporting for troubleshooting.

Map & Trail Improvements

• OpenMap integration: Historical trails can now appear across OpenMap's seamless, zoomable Azeroth.
• Added a live ant position marker and temporary moving trail that update more smoothly without creating extra saved history.
• Improved map resizing, zoom handling, and compatibility with other map addons, including BetterMaps-style zoom behavior.
• Trail lines are now thinner by default, keeping more of Azeroth visible.
• Improved distant-zoom drawing, layering, and performance.
• Added protections against repeated map-rendering errors.

People & Encounters

• Improved encounter accuracy: distant party members are no longer incorrectly treated as nearby encounters.
• Previous uncertain records are preserved rather than silently rewritten.
• Improved People interface spacing and controls.

Reliability & History Protection

• Strengthened protection for legacy SavedVariables during character-history migration.
• Improved safeguards against missing or incomplete historical records.
• Reduced unnecessary map redraws and reused drawing elements to improve performance.
• Added additional error handling to prevent map-display problems from interfering with normal recording.

Important Notes

• OpenMap integration is optional and remains under active beta testing. Some zoom and rendering combinations still require in-game verification.
• Ant Trail continues to record actual observed history, without inventing missing movement or encounters.
• No automatic external uploads or gameplay automation have been added.
• Existing character history and Courier compatibility are preserved.
