Description
Angler's Almanac
One key to lure, cast and reel in, plus an almanac that remembers every fish you catch.
Fishing in WoW Forever means a lot of clicking: re-applying lures, hunting for a tiny bobber, and counting fish in your bags. Angler's Almanac turns fishing into a single key and keeps a record of everything you pull out of the water.
One-key fishing
- Press your fishing key to cast. If your pole has no lure, the same press applies the best lure in your bags first.
- Press it again when the bobber splashes to reel in. No need to find the bobber with your mouse.
- Missed the school? Hold Shift (or Ctrl or Alt, your choice) and press the key to recast straight away.
- Prefer the mouse? Double right-click the water to cast.
See the bite
- Louder splash: while you fish, sound effects go up and music and ambience go quiet, so the splash stands out. Your sound settings come back when you stop.
- Bobber marker: mark your bobber with a star, skull, or any raid mark, or the fishing icon. You choose the size and height so it sits right on the bobber.
The status panel
A small panel that only appears while you fish:
- Time left on your lure
- Fishing skill with your gear and lure bonus, e.g. 85/150 +53
- Catches per cast, and your last catch
- Everything you've caught this session, with icons: Raw Longjaw Mud Snapper x4
The almanac
Every catch is saved for each of your characters. Open it with /aa history, or right-click the status panel.
- All time: every item you've ever fished up, with totals
- This zone: what you've caught where you're standing
- Recent: your last 500 catches with date and time
- Hover any item to see when you first and last caught it, and which zones it came from
Getting started
- Bind a key: Esc > Options > Keybindings > AddOns > Angler's Almanac > Fish (lure if needed). Reel-in only works on this key.
- Equip your fishing pole and press the key.
- When the bobber splashes, press it again.
All settings are under Esc > Options > AddOns > Angler's Almanac, or type /aa in chat.
FAQ
Is this a fishing bot? No. Blizzard only lets addons cast or use items when you press a key, and Angler's Almanac follows that rule. Every cast, lure and reel-in is a key press by you; the addon just makes each press do the right thing.
Why doesn't it tell me when a fish bites? The game doesn't tell addons when a fish bites. The louder splash and the bobber marker are there so you notice it yourself.
Pressing my key again doesn't reel in. Make sure you bound Fish (lure if needed) under Keybindings > AddOns. Reel-in only works on that key, not on mouse clicks.
