Prompted by issues that have cropped up recently with tooltips and Cogwheel's in dungeons
Blue Post on the issue here. I decided to make a mod that will allow you to easily turn tooltips on and off on the fly. There's probably some fancy way of doing this in interface options, or you could just stick the script in a macro but...I'm AMFG Lazy. This will only hide one-line tooltips (idea stolen from
CogFix) so most tooltips will remain intact.
AUTOMATIC MODE
Automatic mode is enabled by default and when enabled tooltips will automatically be disabled when entering instances or battlegrounds, they will be re-enabled once you leave the instance and enter the world. Most users should be able to install the mod, turn it on in the addon controls and never touch it. If automatic mode is turned off, this setting will apply across all characters.
"/lt status" shows current auto tooltip status
"/lt auto" toggles automatic mode off and on
MANUAL MODE
Type "/lt off" to turn off tooltips manually.
Type "/lt on" to turn on tooltips manually.
