Allegedly Skilled Macros

Import Allegedly Skilled macro packs with a review and clear per-macro results; experimental native bar and keybinding support.

Allegedly Skilled Macros

Bring a macro pack from Allegedly Skilled into your character's macro list. Paste an export, review the proposed changes, then apply it outside combat. The result lists which macros were created, reused or left unimported.

Download Allegedly Skilled Macros 0.1.8 (Alpha). This approved Alpha package still needs the in-game acceptance checks described below. Enable Alpha files in your addon manager to see this release.

What it does

  • Imports selected catalogue macros and personal macros used in a bar plan.
  • Keeps each macro's exact name and full text. Exact existing matches are reused; a matching name with different text stops the import.
  • Includes experimental placement of macros and learned player spells on supported native action buttons, plus optional character-specific keys.
  • Shows existing assignments before Apply and keeps unassigned buttons, personal labels and blank keys as they are.
  • Checks client state again at Apply and verifies each change. A failed step stops the import with a truthful partial result.

How to use it

  1. Prepare your pack or bar plan on Allegedly Skilled Macros. Choose Create addon import, then Copy addon import.
  2. In game, type /asm, paste the complete code and select Review import.
  3. Check names and text. For a bar plan, inspect buttons and existing keys. To include keys, enable character-specific keybindings in the game, select Apply bindings (optional) in the addon and review again.
  4. Outside combat, with an empty cursor and the main bar on its base page, select Apply import, check the receipt and test your buttons.

/asm results reopens saved outcomes. /asm status prints addon/client versions, locale and the latest result. The legacy /ffimport command remains an alias. The installable folder is AllegedlySkilledMacros. Install and upgrade instructions, including optional old receipt migration, are in the bundled README.

Alpha scope

Version 0.1.8 targets WoW Forever 1.60.1, interface 16001, enUS and native action bars. This renamed package requires new game-client acceptance, including the installation folder, artwork, saved receipts and persistence. Earlier package observations do not certify this package. Automated Lua tests use native API doubles and do not establish actual client behavior.

Bar placement, key transfers, high UI scale, refusal conditions and reload/relogin checks still need recorded game tests. Importing does not verify how each macro performs in combat or change its research status.

Bar screen positions, visibility, scale, Edit Mode and third-party bar profiles are configured separately. Direct pet-bank spell placements are unsupported; use a catalogue or personal pet macro. Other WoW editions/locales are unsupported.

Imports run only after explicit Apply outside combat. There are no combat decisions, rotation calculations or protected-action workarounds. A diagnostic snapshot is not a complete Undo system.

Project links and credits

The macro application uses macros.allegedlyskilled.com. The wider brand home is allegedlyskilled.com.

The Lua/TOC source and bundled README/changelog use the MIT licence. Brand artwork, the project name, website, catalogue and research are separate. The established Allegedly Skilled artwork belongs to the project identity; gallery screenshots must show the actual addon in game.

For bug reports, use the CurseForge comments with /asm status, reproduction steps and Lua errors. Avoid posting private personal macro text unnecessarily.
