Alenya's Guides Writer

Alenya's Guides Writer is the powerful companion authoring tool for Alenya's Guides. It lets you build a shareable guide by simply playing through your own route in game and adding notes and features as you go, without writing a single line of lua.

As a brand new addon, the Writer is being polished alongside Alenya's Guides itself. It ships ready to record, edit and publish your own routes.

Record in game - just play

The heart of the Writer is in-game recording. Start recording, play the game the way you normally would, and the addon captures your steps as you go: every quest pickup, objective completion, quest turn in, grind point, hearth and flight taken. A suite of powerful functions adds details like training, waypoints, reminders and notes. Save when you're done and you have a complete, playable route.

Write any kind of guide

If you can play it, you can record it:

• Leveling routes from 1 to cap
• Speedrun routes
• Gathering routes: record your usual herb or mining loop to keep or share
• Profession guides
• Tour guides for a zone or city
• Routes for guild events and fun runs
• Dungeon quest collection runs

• No lua or coding knowledge required
• Load and edit existing guides in game
• Editing in a spreadsheet supported but not required
• Full editing suite — delete, undo, copy blocks of steps, move steps and insert

Plays into Alenya's Guides

The Writer packs your route into a guide anyone can load straight into Alenya's Guides, the leveling addon that hosts and plays your steps with waypoint arrows, objective tracking and speedrun splits. Alenya's Guides is required to play any guide you create. It's designed to be plug and play - no lua editing required.

Writer authors are free to distribute their guides as they see fit.
