AHledger

AHledger is a market intelligence platform for World of Warcraft: Forever that tracks auction house prices in real time, shows crafting profits and price history, and sends alerts so players know the market before they list.

Auction house prices in your tooltips, a posting helper and price column in the auction house, crafting margins, a deal finder, bag appraisal, and a watchlist with alerts, all in one window, for World of Warcraft: Forever. Free, no automation, nothing paywalled. The Lua ships readable in the download.

Prices come from scans that players run in game and from the shared database at ahledger.com. Nothing here is third-party data: the addon reads what the auction house shows you, and the website reads the game client and Blizzard's own data.

What it adds

Tooltip prices. Every item tooltip gains an AHledger block: median price, minimum buyout, the 7 day change, how many units are listed, and how old the price table is. Vendor sell price, an estimated disenchant value, and how many you own with their value can be turned on too. Works in bags, the bank, chat links, quest rewards, the auction house, and the comparison tooltips.

Posting helper. Put an item in the sell frame and a side panel shows its median, minimum, 7 day change, 30 day range and units listed, with three buttons that fill the price field: undercut the current minimum, match the median, or add 10%. The click that posts the auction is always yours.

Price column in results. Every browse result row shows the median and how far the listing sits under or over it, in green or red, so value is visible without hovering.

Deal finder. Run a scan, and the Deals tab lists every item whose lowest buyout sits a chosen percent under its 30 day median, biggest savings first. Click a row to search the auction house for it; right-click to watch it. Nothing is bought for you.

Crafting margins. Pick a recipe in a profession window and a line under the reagents shows total reagent cost at current prices, what the result sells for, and the margin. The Crafting tab lists every learned recipe of the open profession the same way, sortable by margin, with a shopping list of the reagents you are missing for as many crafts as you like. Reagents with no known price are named rather than counted as free.

Bag appraisal. Everything in your bags with count, median, total, vendor total, and whether to sell at auction or to a vendor.

Watchlist and alerts. Track any item and set up to four alerts on it: median at or below a price, at or above a price, a percent under its 30 day median, or fewer than a number listed. Alerts print in chat, with a sound if you want one, whenever a new price table arrives, and the recent ones stay in the window.

Scanner. Open the auction house and press Scan, or let the addon scan automatically once every 15 minutes. A scan takes seconds. With the AHledger sync app running, your scans upload and your price tables refresh without pasting anything. Without it, /ahl import takes a price table pasted from any market page on ahledger.com.

Minimap button. Left-click opens the window, right-click scans, drag to move it. Titan Panel and Bazooka pick up the data broker feed.

The window

/ahl opens one window with five tabs: Watchlist, Deals, Crafting, Bags, and Options. The header switches the market, shows the age of the price table in green, amber, or red, and prices any item you type or shift-click into the lookup box. The footer scans, imports, and opens the full settings panel.

Contribution

Contributing scans is on by default. A scan holds item ids, quantities, buyout and bid prices, and the time, for one market. It carries no character names, seller names, account details, chat, or gameplay data. Turn it off in /ahl if you want scans to stay on your machine; the addon still works, you just get no shared prices. Addons cannot use the network, so nothing leaves the game without the sync app.

Commands

  • /ahl the window
  • /ahl deals, /ahl bags, /ahl craft open the window on that tab
  • /ahl scan full auction house scan (auction house must be open)
  • /ahl import paste a price table from ahledger.com
  • /ahl watch add [item], remove [item], alert [item] 12g 50s
  • /ahl market <key> or market detect to pin or detect the market
  • /ahl status version, market, table age, stored scans
  • /ahl options the full settings panel

The market is detected from your realm name and faction. Pin a different one from the window header if you trade elsewhere.

Forever beta note

The current beta client writes addon settings at logout but does not read them back, so every addon would start fresh each session. AHledger works around this: your options, market choice, and watchlist with its alerts are mirrored into addon CVars, which the client does keep, and restored at login. The mirror is per character. When Blizzard fixes the client, the workaround simply stops being needed.

Status

Beta. Tooltips, the window and its tabs, watchlist, alerts, bag appraisal, and imports are verified on the Forever beta. The posting helper, price column, deal finder, and scanner all need the auction house, and the crafting tab needs a profession window; they are built for the beta client and will be confirmed as soon as the beta auction house opens. Each of those hooks is guarded, so if a client build renames something the feature switches itself off with one chat line rather than throwing errors. Report anything odd through the contact form with the market, the item, and the time you saw it.
