Tank Exporter has been around for 3 years.
I constantly updated it when new additions are requested or a bug is discovered.
Scan it if you are worried about it containing any kind of virus.
There is no need to back up the game files.
Tank Exporter never modifies any of them except paths.xml and TE makes a back up of this file when it runs.
