SmartStorage — Windrose (UE4SS)

SmartStorage extends Windrose's storage deposit functionality, making it easier to deposit items into multiple storage containers while letting you exclude individual chests.

Features

• Deposit to All: Look at a storage chest and press F5 to deposit matching items into eligible storage containers in the same camp.
• Storage exclusions: Look at a chest and press F6 to exclude it from (or include it in) SmartStorage's deposit operations. Exclusions are saved per world.
• Optional Expand mode: Extend the game's existing Deposit Similar interaction instead of using a separate Deposit to All key.
• Singleplayer and multiplayer support.

Installation (CurseForge)

1. Install SmartStorage under Windrose → UE4SS Mods using CurseForge.
2. Launch the game. CurseForge handles the required UE4SS installation for this mod category.

Do not install the Nexus Mods archive over the CurseForge installation. The packages differ in how the optional configuration is distributed.

Default controls

By default, SmartStorage runs in Keybind mode and uses normal logging.

Optional configuration

Important for CurseForge users: config.ini is not included in the CurseForge download because CurseForge currently rejects .ini files in Windrose UE4SS Mod archives. This is expected and does not prevent SmartStorage from running.

SmartStorage works without config.ini by using its built-in default settings. If you want to change the controls, enable Expand mode, or turn on debug logging, manually create a plain-text file named config.ini in the SmartStorage mod folder, next to enabled.txt (not in the Scripts folder).

Put the following in config.ini:

Available settings:

• ModMode=Keybind — use the configurable Deposit to All key (default).
• ModMode=Expand — extend Windrose's regular Deposit Similar interaction; the separate Deposit to All key is not registered in this mode.
• DepositAllKey=F5 — key for Deposit to All in Keybind mode.
• ExclusionKey=F6 — key for excluding or including the chest you're looking at.
• LoggingMode=Default or LoggingMode=Debug — regular messages or additional diagnostic information.

Save the file and restart the game for the settings to be loaded. Make sure Windows has not named the file config.ini.txt.

Do not add config.ini to the CurseForge ZIP: the .ini extension is not permitted for this Windrose mod category. It is a user-created local file only.

Notes

• SmartStorage needs UE4SS and is packaged for CurseForge's Windrose UE4SS Mods category.
• Chest exclusions are stored separately from config.ini; omitting the optional config does not disable exclusions.
• On multiplayer servers, the mod may also need to be installed and enabled on the server, depending on the server setup.

The CurseForge archive contains the same Lua mod functionality without the optional config.ini, to comply with CurseForge's allowed file extensions. No Lua source changes were needed for this packaging adjustment.
