Outfitter_v3_0.zip
What's new
The biggest Outfitter update yet. The small arrow-key window is gone: press F8 in your inventory and a full Outfitter page opens, built to look like part of the game and used entirely with the mouse.
NEW
- Full Outfitter page (F8 in the inventory): slot tabs (Head, Torso, Hands, Legs, Feet), a grid of every look you can wear, color swatches and a large live preview of your character.
- NPC gear: wear the outfits of the crew and enemies you meet - Blackbeard's Grenadiers, Musketeers, Sailors, Sergeants and Huntsmen, Combatants, Dogfaces, Flibustiers, Jewelers, Gunmen, the Shaman and more. Only pieces made for your character's body are offered.
- Color grid: all 24 of the game's cloth colors as swatches, for each of the 3 color parts (Main, Secondary, Detail) of every piece. The color in use is outlined in gold.
- Saved Outfits: save the whole outfit (looks and colors of all five slots) under a name, switch between your saved outfits with one click, delete the ones you no longer want. Outfits are stored on your PC (outfits.txt).
- Interactive preview: drag the character to rotate it (left/right) or move the view (up/down), use the mouse wheel to zoom - or the < + - > buttons. The preview is also rendered sharper while the page is open.
- Summary: slot, look and colors of the selected piece at a glance; anything you changed but have not applied yet is shown in green.
- Apply button: appears as soon as you have unapplied changes ("Press Enter to Apply or [Apply]"). Closing the page (X or F8) discards unapplied changes, as before.
- The page shows how many looks are available and how many you have not unlocked yet ("All looks unlocked" when you have them all).
CHANGED
- Mouse only: the arrow keys are no longer used. F8 opens / closes the page, Enter applies.
- The page scales to any resolution and aspect ratio.
- Look names are shortened where they would not fit a tile (for example "Priv. Tricorne"); NPC looks use short names ("Grenadier 2", "Sailor 1 Long").
FIXED / IMPROVED
- Faster, more stable browsing: NPC gear and the page are loaded when the game starts instead of while you browse, and the preview is rebuilt only after you stop clicking.
- The log file no longer grows forever (it is rotated at 2 MB).
INSTALL / UPDATE
- Requires UE4SS (experimental build for Windrose, as before). R5 Mod Settings is optional (key binding and toggles).
- Extract the zip into your Windrose folder (the one that contains the R5 folder), so that you get:
- R5\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\Outfitter\ (the Lua mod)
- R5\Content\Paks\~mods\Outfitter\ (the new pak files, required for the page)
- Updating: overwrite the old files. Your saved looks and colors (choices.txt) are kept.
- Co-op: everyone who wants to see your looks needs Outfitter. If you host, the game runs its server from R5\Builds\WindowsServer\ - copy the Lua mod there too (R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\Outfitter), same as before; the server does not need the pak files. Players on older versions see your NPC gear as the original armor - everyone should update to v3.0.
