The world has been reshaped to push exploration and long-distance sailing to the forefront. Distances between locations are significantly increased, forcing you to truly commit to your routes.
You won’t just “go somewhere” anymore! You prepare, you sail, and you hope you make it back.
Maintaining your ship is a real challenge now. With higher repair costs and repair kits turned into rare and expensive luxury items, every scratch matters. Ships have been rebalanced across the board with improved durability, larger inventories, and adjusted handling to better fit this new survival-focused gameplay.
Naval combat and encounters are no longer something you casually farm. Enemy ship spawns and drifting loot have been reduced, making every fight a meaningful choice. Boarding, sinking ships, and scavenging the sea now reward you with reworked and more valuable loot, but picking the wrong fight can leave you stranded.
The economy has been completely overhauled. Trade is no longer optional, now it’s essential. Fast travel is gone, so you must physically sail to each faction, build reputation, and manage your resources carefully. Basic materials can now be sold to faction buyers, while Tortuga has become the hub for selling valuable drops like provisions, medicine, and rare curiosities.
Inventory management has also been expanded, with larger backpacks and improved ship storage, allowing for longer expeditions, if you can survive them.
This mod is built for players who want tension, immersion, and meaningful progression. Every voyage is a gamble. Every port reached feels earned.

Installation:
Place all files in: Windrose\R5\Content\Paks\~mods
For MP also in: Windrose\R5\Builds\WindowsServer\R5\Content\Paks\~mods
(Everyone must have it installed to work properly in MP.)

Important:
Main files require a new world (and a new character is recommended).
Existing worlds will break and only work again after removing the mod.

Designed for singleplayer, but multiplayer seems to work fine (tested on Nitrado server).
