CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: LOBBY HOSTS



Host-Dependent: The lobby host in PvP/Co-Op must have this Game.ini installed for the modifications to work. If clients have these changes but the host does not, the mod will not take effect at all!

How to Install


To ensure the game properly registers these network changes, copy and paste the file into your local app data folder.

You can quickly find it by pressing Win + R, typing %localappdata%, and navigating to:
\SAOFB\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor

Alternatively, copy this exact path into your file explorer address bar (replace YourUserName with your actual Windows username):


C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\SAOFB\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor




This Game.ini tweak focuses on smoothing out the online experience by helping your game communicate more efficiently with other players.

  • Higher Data Throughput: Increasing the bandwidth limits (TotalNetBandwidth and MaxClientRate), allowing the game to send and receive more information, which should help prevent stuttering in lobbies.

 

  • Smoother Movement: Increased the "Position Error" threshold (MAXPOSITIONERRORSQUARED) and enabled bClientAuthoritativePosition. This makes the game more "forgiving" of slight network hiccups, reducing the amount of times you get "rubberbanded" or snapped back to your previous location.

 

  • Responsive Connections: The NetServerMaxTickRate and timeout settings are adjusted to ensure your connection remains active and responsive, helping you stay connected to the lobby without unnecessary drops.

 

  • Optimized Speed: The player speed settings (ConfiguredInternetSpeed) are updated to ensure the game engine doesn't artificially throttle your connection based on outdated default values.
