Press F9 and the day/night cycle jumps to your local time and then runs at normal Earth speed, so a full day takes 24 hours. If it's 1 AM for you, it's night in the game too.
What it does
- F9 turns the sync on or off. Off puts the original day length back.
- F7 shows a small clock in the corner (24h or 12h).
- Set your timezone in
config.txt. Half-hour offsets work too (5.5= UTC+5:30).
Install
- Install UE4SS.
- Put the
EarthTimefolder inSubnautica2\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\. - Open
config.txtand set your timezone. - Load a world and press F9.
If nothing happens, check ue4ss\UE4SS.log for a line starting with [EarthTime] loaded.
To remove it: press F9 to turn it off, then delete the folder.
Config
config.txt is next to the Scripts folder:
UTC_OFFSET_HOURS = 0
TIME_FORMAT = 24
UTC_OFFSET_HOURS: your offset from UTC, from -12 to 14. Examples:7for UTC+7,-5for UTC-5,5.75for UTC+5:45. Default is 0, so change it. Applies after a restart, or press F9 twice.TIME_FORMAT:24or12. Applies after a restart, or press F8 twice.
Clock position, size and a few other things are in Scripts\earthtime\settings.lua if you want to tweak them.
Good to know
- Back up your saves first, since it changes the game's time.
- Turn it off (F9) before you quit.
- Nights are long now: the game's night runs 21:00-03:00, so about six hours of dark. Sunrise and sunset use the game's own schedule, not the real ones.
- Pausing stops the game's clock but not yours. It catches up a couple of seconds after you resume.
- Loading a different world turns sync off. Press F9 again.
- No automatic daylight saving. Change the offset yourself.
- Only tried in singleplayer. Co-op is untested.
- Early Access, so an update might break it.
- Other mods that change the time or day length won't work with this one.
If something breaks, attach UE4SS.log when you report it.
