Sounds Of The Valley Framework
There's nothing quite like adding ultra-realistic sounds to a 2D pixel art game, right? Now you can do it!
This framework allows you to edit the game's sounds and replace them with whatever sounds you want, regardless of their source or nature; it's up to you to decide whether or not they fit what you're looking for.
This mod offers:
- Compatibility with the Android/mobile version.
- Support for .ogg and .wav audio formats.
- In-game sound editing, including volume, pitch, delay, and playback timing.
- The ability to set conditions so that sounds play only when those conditions are met.
- Multiple audio samples for a single sound to add variation and randomness.
- Allows you to isolate a sound that is reused multiple times, enabling you to modify a specific instance (such as the Furnace sound, which is shared with the Pepper Rex’s Breath).
In the downloads, you'll find a template showing how to create a Content Patcher to modify sounds, along with a final example and useful information about what each variant does.
As a general rule, .ogg files are used for long-duration files because they take up the least amount of space (with minimal loss of quality), while .wav files are used for sound effects that last only a few seconds (which can retain their full quality).
Please note that the mod is designed for the PC version; while the mobile version is functional, some features are limited due to the way that version of the game is built. However, most of the mod is—and should be—functional.
So that's it. You can always ask for help if you create a mod and it's not working properly. There might be bugs, so please report them if you feel something isn't right, if the game crashes, etc, these things can always happen.
