Description

Overview
Trader's Tablet adds a complete business-and-finance layer to Stardew Valley, accessed through a tablet interface. Grow your farm into a corporation, take it public on the stock exchange, and climb — or claw — your way to the top of the valley's economy.

A living stock market
Trade a market of fictional valley companies with prices that actually move: multi-day trends, momentum, seasonal shifts, and sector-wide news all push the ticker. Buy the runs, watch for reversals, or short the ones you think are overvalued. Your trades never move the price themselves — you're reading a market, not gaming a number — and every fill pays a flat, honest 1% fee.

Build a company, then take it public
Incorporate your farm, unlock upgrade divisions, contracts, wholesale buying, and a brand you position for trust or prestige. When you're ready, hold an IPO: sell a slice of your company to the market for a fortune, keep the rest as founder shares, and watch FARM trade live on the exchange — its price anchored to your real revenue, brand, and reputation. Run it well and your shareholders profit with you.

Run the boardroom
Buy your way into the CEO seat of any public company and manage it directly — output, bonuses, risk, investments, and board decisions. The valley notices when you make it big, too: villagers warm to a respected mogul and gossip about a growing empire.

...or don't play clean
Every shortcut is on the table, and every one has a price. Skim the company treasury, cook the books after your IPO, buy insider tips, run a pump-and-dump, evade your taxes, or bribe an official to make your problems disappear. A single VTC Scrutiny file tracks everything you own — and once it runs hot enough, the fines stop and the criminal prosecutions begin. Fight the charges in court, bribe the judge (and pray), or hire a scapegoat to take the fall. Lose, and you'll face asset seizures, a market ban, and a valley full of neighbors who've heard exactly what you did.

The Business Expo
Twice a year, the town plaza transforms into a full festival competition. Four businesses vie for Valley Business of the Season, judged on everything you've built. Earn enough revenue and your company becomes the featured entrant — deliver a speech through a branching dialogue tree with real consequences, or bribe the judges and risk being disqualified on stage in front of the whole town. Win, and take home an engraved, dated trophy you can place in your home. Lose, and the rival who beat you won't let you forget it until you reclaim the title.

Requires SMAPI. Built for Stardew Valley 1.6.

Buy the Tablet from Pierre's for 30,000g on Thursdays.
