We've all been there. You are busy clearing debris or harvesting crops, you accidentally scroll one slot too far to your Return Scepter, click, and—poof—you are staring at a loading screen, standing at your front door, confused.

Safe Return Scepter is a simple, lightweight quality-of-life mod that fixes this by requiring a double-click to activate the Return Scepter.



Features

  • Double-Click Safety: Prevents the Return Scepter from activating on the first click. You must click twice within 0.5 seconds to warp.
  • Visual Feedback: A small notification ("Double-click to warp") appears on the first click so you know the mod is working
  • Controller Support: Works with Mouse & Keyboard and Controllers (Gamepads).
  • Zero Lag: Extremely lightweight code that only runs checks when you press the tool button.

 



Installation

  • Install the latest version of SMAPI.
  • Download this mod.
  • Unzip the SafeReturnScepter folder into your Stardew Valley Mods folder.
  • Run the game using SMAPI.

Compatibility

  • Stardew Valley 1.6+: Fully compatible.
  • Multiplayer: Works perfectly in multiplayer. This is a client-side mod, so only you need to have it installed to benefit from it. It will not affect other players.
  • Safe to Uninstall: You can remove this mod at any time. It does not modify your save file or add custom items.

Configuration

Currently, the mod is set to a 0.5-second window for the double-click, which feels natural for most players. No configuration is required—just install and play!
