This mod adds an easy-to-use chess board setup to Stardew Valley.

Chess Boards

You must create a chess board in order to spawn chess pieces.

Chess boards must fulfill the following criteria:

You can have as many boards as you like on a map as long as they are not touching.

Chess Pieces

Chess pieces are modified objects, so they should stay persistent across saves and multiplayer (let me know how it works in MP).

The following hotkeys will work while the mouse cursor is over a chess board:

SetupKey

FlipKey

ClearKey

To move a chess piece, click on its square using left mouse button.

You can create your own chess pieces using a Content Patcher Load action targeting the following path:

aedenthorn.ChessBoards/pieces

Free Mode
By default, piece movements are constrained to legal chess moves. Free mode allows you to setup the board as you like and move pieces without constraint.

To toggle free mode, press the ModeKey (default H) while hovering over a chess board.

During free mode, the following hotkeys become active:

LeftShift

ChangeKey

RemoveKey

Delete

Sound Effects
You can change the sound effects in the config.

To remove a sound effect, leave the entry empty in GMCM or as "" in the config.json file.

Configuration

You can edit the config in Generic Mod Config Menu or by editing the mod's config.json file after starting the game once.

Technical

Requires SMAPI, uses Harmony.

Implements a Generic Mod Config Menu interface to change config settings in-game.

Compatible with Mod Updater for automatic updates.
