Steam distillation is the most common way to extract aromatic compounds (essential oil) from a plant. During the steam distillation process, the essential oil is released from the plant. This mod was something I wanted to create for some time now, so here I am presenting you the Oil Distillation Mod.
This mod includes a new hobby, functional object and produce - oils.
The Oil Distiller can be found under Small Appliances and it costs 300$.
There are two main functions to the distiller - it can produce cooking oil and essential oil.
In total there are 16 different types of oil you can produce - 5 for cooking and 11 essential. You don't need any skill/book to be able to use this appliance.
Cooking Oils
There are 5 different types of cooking oils. To make them you can use ingredients from my harvestables. However, they are not mandatory, if you don't have the ingredeints, you will just need to pay the price to make the oils. Healthier oils cost more to be produced. Once made, you will see an option on the oil 'Open'. This will give you 5 cups of oil in your Sim's inventory. This can be used for cooking if you have SCCO and any oil is required.
Essential / Infused Oils
There are 11 different types of essential oils, including you can produce the Oil and Dye needed for making Soaps. All olis have one price, if you have the needed ingredients they can be made for free.
On the oil (if it's out of the inventory) you will see two options:
You can sell the oil to a Perfumery Company, the profit is 40%. Or you can 'Massage Yourself' (I don't have screenshot of the interaction). This interaction doesn't have a real animation, instead uses the animation for perfume. Massaging with essential oils can help combating in game sicknesses and will increase your health level if you use Clash With Reality by Mirai.
Additives, Laundry Day required
If you have laundry day, you can use the Vanilla Oil, Infused Floral Oil, Lavender Oil, Essential Oil for Soaps and Rose Oil as additives under the flowers category.
Overrides
Okay, so these are optional functions and I included them in separate package files.
'Take Bath With Soaks'
Instead of paying, now your Sim will be required to have a certain type of essential oil, to be able to perfom the interaction.
Incenser, SPA day required
To light up the incenser you won't pay 20$ anymore, but instead you will use the required oil/powder. NOTE: I did not change the description of the buffs.
Massage Table, SPA Day required
Alright, so I've always been puzzled why when we hire a massagist, and we pay for him, whe should still pay for the massage seprately on top? Now, you will need essential oil, so your massagist will give you a massage, instead of paying to them. NOTE: I left the social interaction untouched, so if you use the social interaction for massage from the massagist, you will see the option with payments (in case you want a massage, but you don't have oils). If you press on the table, then you will see the new option for required ingredients! This works only when you hire massagist!
