Realistic Postpartum adds a much deeper and more realistic postpartum experience, allowing your Sims to live through the so-called fourth trimester with a physical and emotional recovery that will depend on the type of delivery and the decisions you make during the game.
From exhaustion and medical checkups to complications and partner support, this mod transforms postpartum into a stage full of realism and new stories.
⚠️ Beta Version
The mod is fully playable, but is still in the testing phase. If you encounter any issues, you can help the creator by submitting the Postpartum_Log.txt file or the Better Exceptions log.
✨ What does this mod add?
🤱 Realistic Postpartum Recovery
After giving birth, you can choose between a vaginal delivery or a cesarean section, each with completely different symptoms, recovery times, and experiences.
🏥 Every Birth Is Unique
Cesarean sections require a slower recovery and present different discomforts than a vaginal birth.
🩹 A True Fourth Trimester
Recovery lasts approximately one week (fully customizable), and symptoms evolve over the following days.
🚑 Medical Checkups
Your Sim will automatically attend a medical appointment off-site via a Rabbit Hole event, returning upon discharge.
⚠️ Postpartum Complications
Engaging in sexual activity before medical discharge can cause:
🩸 Bleeding.
🤒 Infections.
⏳ Setbacks in recovery.
All of this is not fatal, but it has significant effects on recovery.
💧 Pelvic Floor Leaks
Laughing too much or exercising during recovery can cause minor accidental leaks.
🍼 Don't Lift Too Much Weight
Carrying babies or toddlers too soon can lead to a "He's pushed himself too hard" feeling.
❤️ The Partner is Involved Too
The spouse or co-parent will experience different emotions throughout the recovery:
