🔖【 Module Introduction & Gameplay Notes】↴
This mod adds a random “Baby Left at the Doorstep” event, along with subsequent adoption and foster care processes, bringing more warmth and challenges to your Sims’ lives.
1. How to trigger the event?
- Random occurrence: After installing, there is a very small chance of finding an abandoned baby at your doorstep.
- Manual trigger: If you want to experience it immediately, enable the cheat command “testingcheats true,” then hold Shift + click on your Sim to manually trigger it from the menu.
- Initial care: The baby will appear at the front door (manual trigger places the baby inside the doorway; not sure if the random trigger will place them properly outside). After checking on the baby, you can care for them just like any other infant.
2. Deciding the baby’s fate
You can discuss with your spouse how to handle the child (Sims will decide whether they want to keep the baby based on their mood). Once confirmed, you have the following options:
Option A: Hand over to the Police Station (Requires the *Get to Work* expansion pack)
- Reporting process: Take the baby to the police station to file a report and hand them over. You may also choose to stay and give a statement.
- Follow-up: A few days later, the police will call to update you on the case progress (you can also manually trigger the call via Shift + click on your Sim).
Option B: Contact Child Protective Services (CPS)
- Temporary foster care: You can sign up as a “foster family,” temporarily caring for the child until the agency finds a suitable placement.
- Review notice: Within two days, a social worker will call back to inform you whether the biological parents have been found, or confirm that you may continue fostering.
- Farewell: Within 24 days, the social worker may notify you that a permanent placement has been found and take the child away. Before the child grows into a teenager, you will have the chance to say a final goodbye.
Option C: Formal adoption
- Raising from infancy: Once you decide to adopt, the child will be treated as your own.
- Telling the truth:
- Toddler stage: The child may not fully understand, but will accept it happily as they grow older.
- Child stage and above: The child will find it harder to accept (includes custom action animations). If the child becomes emotionally unstable, you’ll need multiple conversations and support to help them through the psychological struggle.
3. Finding the biological parents
- Online search: Adopted Sims who know about their adoption can search for their biological parents online (success rate is relatively low).
- Quick search: By using Shift + click on the adoptive parents or the child, you can directly make the biological parents appear at the doorstep.
- Special interaction: During the reunion, a unique big-hug animation will play, and special dialogue options will be unlocked.

𝓐.𝟏 ❞如遇到漢化空白問題或無顯示漢化；
- 請將漢化檔案與模組主體檔案放在同一個檔案夾中。
- 確認安裝路徑是否正確或放太深(Mods>自訂檔案夾>漢化檔案)，或將漢化檔案名稱前面的"!"刪除(只刪除「!」)。使用MAC系統的玩家可以將漢化檔案名稱前面的"!"改成"1"或"A"。
𝓐.𝟐 ❞使用簡體中文遊戲的玩家安裝簡體漢化無須另外再安裝簡體補丁，但只能是在設置為簡體語言的遊戲中使用。如果你的遊戲語言為繁體，可能會無法顯示(則需要在另外安裝簡體語言)。已將遊戲語言設置為簡體的玩家，如果顯示為空白，請告知我。
𝓐.𝟑 ❞可以使用S4Sudio( Windows點這裡下載 / Mac點這裡下載)程序進行修復。步驟如下；
打開S4S程式> 我的項目> 選擇模組本體檔案> 選擇Warehouse類別> 點一下「實例」欄位以便快速找尋> 在實例裡找到02開頭的字串(類型String Table ) > 右鍵點選02行列> 選擇刪除> 儲存檔案>將修改後的主體檔案放在遊戲Mods夾即可。
