“Better Daycare” by adeepindigo is a behavior tweak and expansion mod for The Sims 4 that requires the Core Library to integrate an optional daycare system directly into the interactions of babies, infants, and toddlers. Its technical architecture modifies the base game’s default “burrow-style” daycare mechanics, allowing caregivers to voluntarily send toddlers off-lot even when adult Sims remain in the residence. For babies, the stay lasts until the player manually retrieves them by interacting with the crib, while for toddlers and young children, it has a standard duration of eight hours with the option to cancel the interaction early. At the system level, the mod reprograms the replenishment of needs in both the optional and default daycare to actively meet the children’s basic needs during their stay. Through a modular structure of optional packs, the mod allows you to enable or disable skill and character trait gains for toddlers, progress toward developmental milestones for babies and toddlers, as well as the imposition of a fixed fee of 100 Simoleons for the service.
