Valerie's Jobs

Skill-based job interviews, emotional outcomes, and occasional ghost listings bring a hiring process to your Sims’ careers.

Valerie’s Jobs

Getting a job is no longer just a menu click! Valerie’s Jobs adds a hiring process to The Sims 4: your Sim attends an interview, their relevant skills influence the result, and getting hired isn’t guaranteed.

Interviews last one or two in-game hours in a rabbit hole. Beginner Sims still have a fair chance—relevant skill levels around 2–3 already help.

Features

  • Interviews for supported full-time careers, including Actor, and part-time jobs.
  • Pop-up dialogs announcing the interview and explaining its outcome.
  • Automatic career assignment after a successful interview.
  • Custom moodlets: Nailed the Interview (Confident), Back to the Listings (Sad), and Ghosted by the Job (Scared).
  • Occasional fake job listings from employers who never intended to hire anyone. Don’t worry—the rejection explains when the employer is to blame!

The Noble career, freelance work, school, retirement, and unsupported custom careers bypass interviews.

Installation

  1. Extract both ValeriesJobs.package and ValeriesJobs.ts4script into Documents/Electronic Arts/The Sims 4/Mods/ValeriesJobs.
  2. Enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods Allowed in the game options.
  3. Restart the game.

Keep the script file no more than one folder beneath Mods, and remove older copies when updating.

Current version and compatibility

0.3.2-dev is an early testing build verified against game version 1.128.90.1030.

Saving and reloading during an interview is not supported yet. Complete interviews before saving and exiting, and back up your save before testing.

The interview flow, career assignment, return from the rabbit hole, and visible acceptance moodlet have passed in-game testing. The corrected rejection and ghost-listing moodlet displays still need separate in-game confirmation.

Other mods that change career joining may conflict.
