Species Trait Guard

Species Trait Guard is a lightweight script mod for The Sims 4 that prevents personality traits from being assigned to the wrong species.

In modded saves, custom traits and other gameplay systems can sometimes cause strange cross-species trait assignments — for example, a cat receiving a human personality trait, a dog receiving a cat trait, or a human Sim receiving a pet trait.

Species Trait Guard protects your save in both directions: human Sims are protected from pet personality traits, while cats, dogs and horses are protected from human traits and personality traits intended for another animal species.

The protection works automatically in the background, so you normally do not need to do anything after installing the mod.

What it does

The mod checks new personality traits before they are assigned and helps prevent invalid species/trait combinations. It focuses on personality traits and avoids interfering with hidden, technical, reward, occult and other gameplay traits that are not part of the normal personality system.

It also includes a safe repair system for saves where incorrect traits have already been assigned. Repairs follow a conservative 1:1 rule: if one invalid personality trait is removed, no more than one valid replacement may be added. Existing legitimate empty trait slots are not automatically filled.

Commands

Open the cheat console with Ctrl + Shift + C.

speciestraits.guard — checks the current status of the protection system and refreshes the guard.

speciestraits.report — scans the save for incorrect species/personality traits without changing anything. This is the recommended command to use first.

speciestraits.clean — repairs problems found by the report. For safety, run speciestraits.report first during the same game session.

Installation

Place the SpeciesTraitGuard folder in:

Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods

Make sure Script Mods Allowed is enabled in Game Options.

If you are replacing an older version, remove the old files first and delete localthumbcache.package before starting the game.

Backing up your save before using a cleaning command for the first time is always recommended.

Human traits for humans, pet traits for pets — every personality trait where it belongs.

Jak działa mod

Mod kontroluje nowe cechy osobowości przed ich nadaniem i pomaga blokować nieprawidłowe połączenia gatunku i cechy. Skupia się na cechach osobowości i nie powinien ingerować w cechy ukryte, techniczne, nagrody, cechy okultystyczne ani inne cechy gameplayowe.

Zawiera również bezpieczny system naprawy zapisów, w których błędne cechy zostały już nadane. Naprawa działa według zasady 1:1: jeżeli zostanie usunięta jedna błędna cecha osobowości, mod może dodać maksymalnie jedną prawidłową cechę zastępczą. Prawidłowe, wcześniej puste sloty nie są automatycznie zapełniane.

Komendy

Konsolę kodów otworzysz za pomocą Ctrl + Shift + C.

speciestraits.guard — sprawdza stan systemu ochrony i odświeża Guard.

speciestraits.report — skanuje zapis w poszukiwaniu błędnych cech gatunkowych, ale niczego nie zmienia. To najlepsza komenda do użycia jako pierwsza.

speciestraits.clean — naprawia problemy znalezione przez raport. Dla bezpieczeństwa najpierw wykonaj speciestraits.report podczas tej samej sesji gry.

Instalacja

Umieść folder SpeciesTraitGuard w:

W opcjach gry muszą być włączone modyfikacje ze skryptami.

Jeżeli instalujesz nową wersję zamiast starszej, najpierw usuń stare pliki moda, a następnie usuń localthumbcache.package.
