Hi! 🌸
The other day, while making some Sims, I got curious about how sliders actually work. It's always bothered me when I'm trying to adjust a facial feature or body proportion just a little bit more, but the slider won't go any further.
So I decided to look into how those limits work and ended up creating a script to unlock them, giving me a lot more freedom to play around with my Sims' proportions in CAS.
I had so much fun with the results that I decided to share it with you! đź’—
How does it work? Slider Unlock scans your Mods folder for installed sliders, regardless of who created them.
It identifies sliders by the internal structure of their .package files and adjusts their limits. This means you can keep using your favorite sliders, just with more room to work with.
Before making any changes, the script also automatically creates a backup of the original files.
How to use Install Slider Unlock (mods folder) and make sure script mods are enabled in your game settings.
Open The Sims 4 and press Ctrl + Shift + C to bring up the cheat console.
Enter the unlock command you'd like to use.
Close the game and launch it again. This step is necessary for CAS to load the modified sliders properly.
Head into CAS and enjoy your sliders with their expanded limits!
Important: You don't need to repeat this process every time you play! Once unlocked, your sliders stay that way. You'll only need to run the command again if you install new sliders that you'd like to unlock too.
Available commands mizu.slider.unlock
Doubles the dragging range of detected sliders. This is a great place to start!
mizu.slider.amplify
Expands the dragging range and also doubles the morph effect. This can help with sliders that don't respond much to an increased dragging range alone, such as certain height sliders.
mizu.slider.rollback
Restores the original files, undoing the changes made by the script.
An extra option mizu.slider.amplify 2 true
This also lets you amplify CAS presets. It's completely optional and only happens when you include the true parameter.
Why do I need to restart the game? The Sims 4 loads slider data into memory while the game is running. So even after the files have been modified, the new limits might not show up in CAS right away.
Some files may also be in use and won't receive their pending changes until the next time you launch the game.
Restarting the game makes sure the updated limits are loaded correctly.
What about my original files? Before modifying a slider, the script automatically creates a backup in a folder called MizuSliderUnlock, located outside your Mods folder.
If you ever want to undo the changes, simply use the mizu.slider.rollback command.
Please note: This script directly modifies the .package files of your installed sliders. It detects compatible sliders based on their internal structure, rather than relying on a specific list of creators. Because of this, results may vary depending on how each slider was made.
Nothing gets unlocked automatically, either. You decide when to run the commands.
The first time you launch the game after unlocking your sliders, you might notice some changes in how your Sims look, depending on the presets you're using. You may need to make a few adjustments to get them looking just the way you like.
(And honestly, tweaking them is going to be so much fun now! 🤣)
I hope you have as much fun creating Sims with this as I did while testing it! 🌸

Seus sliders, sem trava!
Oi! 🌸
Abra o The Sims 4 e pressione Ctrl + Shift + C para abrir o console.
Digite o comando de desbloqueio que preferir.
Feche o jogo e abra novamente.
