Description

Planetary Pressures is an optional gameplay add-on for Simstrology Core that gives the moving sky a little more say in your Sim's emotional day. When a supported planetary placement matches an emotion your Sim is already feeling, it adds one matching +1 moodlet. The sky has opinions. Your Sim has already started having feelings.

What it does

Planetary Pressures checks the current signs of the seven traditional planets: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. It uses their traditional dignities—placements where a planet's themes are especially comfortable, heightened, strained, or difficult to express—to determine which emotional pressures are available.

Each supported placement has its own emotional matches, planet icon, and sign-specific moodlet text. A qualifying transit only adds a pressure when your Sim's current emotion matches one of those supported moods.

For example, an already Angry Sim can receive a matching Mars-in-Aries pressure. That transit does not make every Sim Angry: another Sim under the same sky may receive a different matching pressure, or none at all.

One pressure at a time

Your Sim receives at most one visible planetary pressure moodlet, worth +1 to the matching emotion. When several transits qualify, priority follows this order:

Moon → Mercury → Venus → Sun → Mars → Jupiter → Saturn

Slower qualifying planets do not add hidden emotional weight. This lets faster-moving pressures appear without piling every eligible planet onto the same mood.

Feelings need an existing cause

Pressure reinforces an emotion supported by another moodlet. When that outside support disappears, the pressure releases instead of keeping the emotion alive on its own. A different, related emotion does not count as support for the current one.

As your Sim's mood or the sky changes, the available pressure can change or disappear. A Sim will not always have a planetary moodlet, even with a complete chart and everything installed correctly.

Planetary Pressures does not directly force interactions, fights, relationship outcomes, or failures. Its gameplay effect is the matching emotional reinforcement; your Sim's ordinary gameplay continues around it.

Requirements

Simstrology Core**Version 2.7.1 or newer.** Supplies the shared sky, chart foundation, and updates used by Planetary Pressures. |

Lumpinou's Mood Pack | **Required.** Supplies the custom emotions used alongside supported EA emotions. |

| Planetary Pressures files | The gameplay package, strings package, and runtime `.ts4script` from the release. |

| Eligible Sim | Teen, Young Adult, Adult, or Elder. |

| Complete Big Three | Your Sim must have their **Sun, Moon, and Rising** signs set through Core. |

There is no Simstrology skill requirement or skill-level gate. Children and younger Sims do not receive these pressures.

Sims with an incomplete Big Three receive no pressure moodlets. Eligible Sims in the active household can receive a chart-setup reminder. Complete their chart through Core to make them eligible; an eligible transit and matching current emotion are still needed before a moodlet appears.

How it fits into the Simstrology family

Core provides the foundation. It maintains the save's shared moving sky and the natal chart information used by the wider family, including houses derived from Rising signs. Planetary Pressures reads that foundation and uses Core's update system to keep its effects in step with gameplay.

Planetary Pressures provides the emotional layer. It owns the pressure rules, moodlets, and placement-specific descriptions. Your Sim's natal signs remain their chart record; the changing planetary placements used for pressure come from the current sky. A Mars-in-Aries pressure describes transiting Mars, not a requirement that your Sim have an Aries Sun, Moon, or Rising sign.

The other family modules are optional companions. You do not need the Skill, Career, Degree, or Astrological Aspirations modules to receive planetary pressures. Planetary Pressures adds emotional texture alongside those parts of your Sim's story, with no additional progression requirement of its own. Their individual requirements still apply when you choose to use them.

Lumpinou's Mood Pack is an external dependency that supplies the broader emotional vocabulary for this layer.

Getting started

1. Install Core v2.7.1 or newer, Lumpinou's Mood Pack, and the Planetary Pressures release files.

2. Check that the legacy `PlanetaryConditions` package is absent.

3. Use Core to complete an eligible Sim's Sun, Moon, and Rising signs.

4. Play normally. When a supported transit matches an already-supported emotion, its pressure moodlet can appear as Core updates gameplay.

If no pressure appears, check your Sim's age and complete Big Three, then remember that both the current planetary placement and current emotion must qualify. An ordinary emotional day without a pressure moodlet is an expected result.
