Complain About Cloudy Weather.
Argue about…Music?
Joke about Body Hair???
Mhm.
The Sims 4 has a lot of very specific social interactions that sometimes just don't match what your Sims are actually talking about. Oftentimes, your options are picking between "Joke about Body Hair" and "Joke about Facial Hair" when your Sim is joking about something entirely different.
It's a small thing, but it can be immersion-breaking.
Simple Socials adds a handful of simple, staple interactions that can be used endlessly across all kinds of conversations, relationships, and storylines.
Simple Socials adds plain, broad interactions designed to fit a variety of situations. They're intentionally not attached to a particular subject or scenario, so they can apply to whatever your Sims are actually talking about.
Each interaction also gives you a response, offering insight into how the listening Sim received what your Sim just said.
Maybe the compliment was exactly what they needed to hear. Maybe the joke fell painfully flat. Maybe they're tired of listening to your Sim complain. Or maybe that argument did not go the way your Sim thought it would. Like, at all.
The responses add variety, spontaneity, and a lot of storytelling potential to your Sims' interactions.
This collection currently includes these Simple Socials:
- Joke
- Found under Funny > Jokes…
- Available for Child–Elder
- Compliment
- Found under Friendly > Compliments…
- Available for Teen–Elder
- Note: Due to Maxis' availability tuning, the Compliment menu itself doesn't consistently appear for Child Sims. Perhaps, as a result, my Compliment interaction currently doesn't appear for this life stage at all. Still looking into this.
- Complain
- Found under Friendly > Complaints…
- Available for Child–Elder
- Argue
- Found under Mean > Arguments…
- Available for Child–Elder
- Note: This is a Base Game version of Argue, so it doesn't require the Parenthood Game Pack. As such, it does not appear under Parenthood's Argue submenu.
- This interaction uses a sequence of Base Game animations.
- The initiating Sim can win, lose, or leave the argument without either Sim winning.
- Includes buffs in addition to the response notifications.
