  • Added a safeguard that detects multiple installed versions of the mod inside the game's Mods folder to help prevent unexpected issues caused by duplicate installations.
    • When duplicates are detected, the mod will log the conflicting file locations and indicate which version was loaded.
    • A warning notification will also be displayed when the game starts.
  • Added an optional Update Checker.
    • When enabled, the mod performs a single asynchronous request when the game starts (or when the option is enabled) to check for the latest available version.
    • The check has no impact on loading times and uses only a negligible amount of network data.
    • If you prefer not to use it, simply disable the option and the mod will never attempt to connect to the internet, allowing you to continue using older versions without any restrictions.
  • Improved compatibility with Getaways, fixing an issue that could prevent controlling Sims located in a different region than the active Sim.
  • Reworked Travel Group handling.
    • Only Sims belonging to the active household are now prevented from being selected.
    • Added Sims (those who are not part of the active household) can always be selected, even while visiting vacation destinations, avoiding several edge-case issues.
  • Updated the bring_here_add_to_vacation_interaction tuning to allow the Join Vacation interaction to be used on homeless and special Sims, making it possible to invite them to the current vacation destination.
  • Updated the bring_here_from_vacation_interaction tuning to allow the Bring Here interaction on homeless and special Sims who are currently on Vacation or Getaways. Just like playable Sims, they will leave their Travel Group before traveling to the current lot.
  • Added a small patch to prevent pets from starting Discovery Quests.
  • Refactored and optimized the selectable Sim handling logic, which should resolve several minor issues and improve overall stability.
  • Removed the unused tuning values 'allow_autonomous', 'scoring_priority', and 'attention_cost' from several tunings, eliminating tuning log warnings in 'Better Exceptions'
  • Removed duplicate Pie Menu interactions for dogs, cats, and horses.
  • Removed the obsolete tuning previously used to unlock doors for added selectable Sims. This functionality may return in a future update with a different implementation.
  • Starting a Getaway using only added selectable Sims (without including any Sims from the active household) is still limited by a base game issue.
    • The Sim will travel to the destination, but the Getaway will immediately cancel.
    • In previous versions this could also leave the UI in a broken state, requiring the player to return to Manage Worlds. A temporary workaround has been implemented to prevent the UI from becoming stuck while I continue investigating a proper solution.
