Resident Portal: Payments and Benefits

Resident Portal — government services for your Sims.

Your Sims can register with Social Services and get state support: payments for new children, a gift for newborns, a care allowance for babies and toddlers, low-income support, a single parent supplement and back-to-school money. File an income declaration every season — and don't get caught by the tax office if you decide to cheat 😉

Inspired by real-world social benefit systems (like Russia's and many European countries'): families with children get state support, and low-income families get extra help after an income check.

📱 How to use

Phone → Resident Portal → Payments and Benefits… or Computer → Resident Portal → Payments and Benefits.

A window opens with all actions: each has a picture and a description, unavailable ones are greyed out with the reason.

• Apply for Family Benefits — the application gets a number; the review takes one in-game day. Check Status shows the review stage.
• Apply in Person at the Service Center — your Sim goes there, and the decision is ready in about 2 hours.
• File Income Declaration — once a season, needed for low-income support. A reminder comes before the season ends.
• Check Benefits Status — the decision, registered children, the next payment, the government records check.
• Sign a Social Contract (computer only) — money to start a business (see below).

The decision comes as a short text message, and the money arrives a couple of hours later with a Plumbob Bank text — just like a real bank.

💵 Payments

• Approved if the family has a child or a low income. Teens don't count as children.
• Payments arrive on the first day of every season, whatever the season length.
• New children are registered automatically.

🎁 A gift for newborns

With the payment for a baby, the city sends a set: a teddy bear for the mother's inventory, a crib and a changing table for the household inventory. (The changing table is from Growing Together; without it there is no table.)

🏠 Who counts as low-income

• Only official pay counts: jobs and part-time jobs, including teens'. Sales, freelance work and royalties don't.
• The line is §350 per week per person (e.g. a family of 4 with 28-day seasons: under §5,600 per season).
• The home is checked too: a lot worth more than §50,000 per person gets no low-income support. Money in the bank is not counted.

🕵️ Declarations and tax audits

• Income went up but the declaration wasn't updated → support denied and a fine of 50% of the support.
• On the computer only, you can declare 40% less than your real income. A random tax audit (30%) catches it: a §1,000 fine and no low-income support for 2 more seasons. Usually cheating doesn't pay off!

💼 Social contract (computer only)

An adult without a job from a low-income family gets §5,000 to start a business. Choose a field — crafts and arts, cooking, gardening or digital technology — and raise its skill by 2 levels within a season. Success: the money is yours and a Successful Startup moodlet. Failure: half has to be paid back. The next contract is possible after 2 seasons.

🧍 Sims live with it

• While the application is under review, Sims check its status on their phones by themselves; with a debt to Social Services they recount the budget and worry.
• New socials: Brag About Benefits (the friend is happy for you — or envious!) and Complain About Bureaucracy.
• Traits matter: Kleptomaniacs and Frugal Sims enjoy an understated declaration, Snobs and Materialistic Sims are embarrassed to live on benefits.
• Moodlets: Benefits Approved, Benefits Denied, Benefits Came In, Tax Office Is Watching, A Gift from the City, New Notebooks, Budget Saved, Successful Startup, Happy for a Friend, Envious, Worried About Debt, Pulled It Off, Too Proud to Admit.

ℹ️ Good to know

• No packs required. Without Seasons a "season" is one week.
• All families in town with an approved application receive payments; notifications only for your family.
• Buttons are only on the phone and computers — clicking on Sims is not slowed down.
• The mod's data is saved with your game save.
• Languages: English, Russian and Spanish — switches automatically with your game language.
• Not tested together with other benefit mods (SimCare, SNB Bills, etc.) — payments may stack.
• Tested on game version 1.128. On an older version and something doesn't work? Leave a comment with the FamilyBenefits.log file from Mods\FamilyBenefitsMod.

⚙️ Installation

• Unzip into Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods (you get a FamilyBenefitsMod folder) — or install with the CurseForge app.
• Game Options → Other → enable Custom Content and Mods and Script Mods.
• Restart the game.

Uninstall: delete the FamilyBenefitsMod folder.

• fb.status — the family's status
• testingcheats true, then fb.reset — unregister the family to apply again

Единый портал жителя — госуслуги для ваших симов. Заявление на пособия (онлайн или лично в МФЦ), выплаты за детей, подарок новорождённому, пособие по уходу за малышами, помощь малоимущим, надбавка родителю-одиночке, «сборы в школу», декларации о доходах с налоговыми проверками и социальный контракт на своё дело. Симы сами проверяют статус заявления, хвастаются пособием и жалуются на бюрократию. Мод полностью на русском — язык переключается сам вместе с языком игры. Дополнения не нужны.

Установка: распакуйте в Документы\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods, включите моды и моды скриптов в настройках, перезапустите игру.

Portal Ciudadano — servicios públicos para tus Sims. Solicita ayudas (online o en persona), pagos por hijos, un regalo para los recién nacidos, ayudas por bajos ingresos, a familias monoparentales y para la vuelta al cole, declaraciones de ingresos con inspecciones de Hacienda y un contrato social para emprender. El mod está totalmente en español y cambia de idioma solo con el juego. No necesita packs.
