Sometimes a Sim’s autonomy will keep trying to queue the same action again and again with no end. This can happen for a number of reasons, including poor tuning, an unreachable target, or hidden mod conflicts. The result is a Sim getting visibly stuck while their queue thrashes repeatedly.
Queue Guard watches for that exact pattern and corrects it immediately.
How It Works
When Queue Guard catches the same autonomous interaction being pushed to a Sim 5 times within 10 in-game minutes, it:
- Stops autonomy from choosing that same interaction again so the Sim can move on
- Immediately clears the duplicate copies already piled up in that Sim’s queue
- Prevents the interaction from being autonomously queued for 15 in-game minutes
Once the block expires, Queue Guard allows the interaction to be chosen by the Sim's autonomy again. If the underlying issue is still present and the spam starts again, Queue Guard re-blocks the loop for twice as long as the previous block, up to a maximum of 4 in-game hours.
How It Helps
Queue Guard helps reduce or outright eliminate:
- Autonomy “thrashing,” where a Sim endlessly tries to queue the same failed action
- Performance stutter on busy lots, including festivals, apartments, clubs, full households, and packed venues
- Frozen or stuck Sims
Queue Guard also doubles as a diagnostic tool. Every correction is silently written to a log file in your The Sims 4 user folder.
If you’d like to see Queue Guard notifications in-game, open the cheat console and type:
Note: Since this is a pure script mod, in-game notifications and the log file are English only.
