Description

Another Must-Have for your rags-without-riches gameplay: This Mod enables your down-on-their-luck Sims to beg for money and receive a handful of Simoleons from strangers by either asking a Sim directly, or via a timed Begging self-interaction.

Here's the rundown:

Two new Begging interactions that will become available when your Sim buys the "Beggar" reward trait from the rewards store:

  • cost 100
  • available Child-Elder

New "Beg for Money" interaction when clicking on a non-household Sim:
  • available Child-Elder
  • chance of success and money loot depend on the new Begging skill, Charisma skill, relationship level between the two Sims, and which traits and moods your Sim and the Target Sim both have
  • increased chance of success if the Target Sim has the traits Good or Cheerful (varying degrees)
  • increased chance of success if the Actor or Target Sim is in a good mood (varying degrees)
  • decreased chance of success if the Target Sim has the traits Evil, Mean, Hot-headed, Proper, Self-absorbed, Materialistic or Snob (varying degrees)
  • decreased chance of success if the Target or Actor Sim are in a bad mood (varying degrees)

New "Beg for Money" timed self-interaction (when clicking on your Sim):
  • available Child-Elder
  • runs for 240 Sim Minutes unless cancelled by the player or motives (hunger, energy, bladder) are about to fail
  • success depends largely on chance: not every Sim will stop and give money, regardless of the begging Sim's skill level
  • Sims seeing the Begging Sim in the streets have a small chance to give a small amount of money (5 Simoleon), a medium amount (15 Simoleons) or a large amount (25 Simoleons) - with small being the highest and large the smallest chance
  • Sims with the trait Good have a chance of giving more money than others (50 Simoleons)
  • Sims with the traits Mean, Evil or Hot-headed will not give money but instead yell at the begging Sim
  • Sims with the traits Snob, Materialistic or Proper will ignore the begging Sim

A new, 5 level, minor Begging skill, a few new Buffs, strings and icons.

"Agnes Crumplebottom Special":

Go on, ask her. Do you dare?

Begging Autonomy:

This small update brings some begging autonomy for NPCs to your game:

NPC Sims that have been set to be Beggars now have a chance of appearing and doing the timed begging self-interaction. Your active Sim will then be able to give money, which will be transferred to the begging Sim's household funds. The game will not spawn beggars on it's own, so you will have to set this up yourself.

You can set Sims to be Beggars in two ways:

1) via Gameplay: If you create a Sim and give that Sim the "Beggar" reward trait from the rewards store, this Sim will have a chance of randomly appearing and starting the begging interaction while you are playing a different household. This means, if you play rotationally and have a household with a Beggar Sim, you might see them around begging for money on the streets while you are off playing a different household.

2) via Debug Cheats: If you enable Debug cheats, you can Shift-Click on any Sim you like and choose the option "Make Beggar (DEBUG)" - this will give the Sim the Beggar trait. This Sim will from now on have a chance to appear and beg for money as well.

Please note: this is pure chance! I am not creating any situations that force Sims to appear and start begging. I merely give them a push to want to do the interaction if they have the trait, whether they spawn or not, that's still the game itself, so if you have any mods affecting which Sims are spawned, they will also affect whether the begging Sims are spawned. Whether they are doing the interaction or not also still depends on other autonomy pushed on the Sim, so you might see them around without them doing the begging interaction as well.
