Merfolk is a plural noun which refers to multiple mermaids, mermen, or merchildren. It doesn't make sense to use it when referring to one sim. So I changed merfolk back to mermaid, like it originally was when Island Living first released. This mod changes the name when selecting which occult your sim is, as well as any other instance when merfolk was used.
