Description

Meet Your Dynasty

You have a huge family tree. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandchildren, great-grandchildren — at this point, half your save is related to each other.

And yet The Sims 4 still expects you to introduce them one by one.

That’s exactly why Meet Your Dynasty exists.

The mod lets you quickly introduce a Sim to their entire living extended family or manage relationships across a whole dynasty at once. It’s especially useful for legacy saves, large families, and those moments when you really don’t feel like personally taking the newest family member around to meet every single cousin.

🌍 Languages

Meet Your Dynasty supports all 18 interface languages officially available in The Sims 4:

  • English
  • Russian
  • French
  • Italian
  • German
  • Spanish
  • Czech
  • Danish
  • Dutch
  • Japanese
  • Norwegian
  • Polish
  • Portuguese
  • Swedish
  • Finnish
  • Traditional Chinese
  • Simplified Chinese
  • Korean

The Russian localization is maintained and tested by me.

The French localization was contributed by a native French-speaking player.

The remaining localizations were prepared with translation assistance and reviewed for gameplay meaning, tone, consistency, and major grammar issues.

I did my best to make every localization feel natural and keep the original meaning and tone of the mod. However, I’m not a native speaker of most of these languages, so I can’t always judge how natural every line sounds in practice. If you notice anything awkward, incorrect, or just a little weird, please let me know — native-speaker corrections are always very welcome!

How to access the mod

Hold Shift and click on a Sim, then select Meet Your Dynasty.

The mod menu does not appear with a regular click.

Who counts as family?

Meet Your Dynasty is not limited to close relatives or a specific level of relation.

The mod follows the family connections in your save and can find relatives across multiple generations, including distant cousins and different branches of the family.

It also follows family connections through marriage, so spouses of relatives and their connected family members can be included in the dynasty too.

There is no “first cousins only” limit. If your family tree has grown way too big to keep track of, this mod is made for exactly that.

My Family Relationships

This section works with the selected Sim and their relatives.

You can:

  • introduce the Sim to all living relatives they don’t know yet;
  • make them Friends;
  • Good Friends;
  • Best Friends;
  • Enemies;
  • remove existing social relationships without affecting the actual family tree.

For example, if a new Sim joins an already large family, there’s no need to process the whole dynasty again. Just select that Sim and introduce them to the rest of the family.

Note: The “Meet relatives you don’t know yet” action only creates relationships with Sims who are currently unknown. It does not change or overwrite any existing relationships with relatives your Sim already knows.

Family-Wide Relationships

This section works with the entire living dynasty at once.

With a single action, you can:

  • introduce relatives who don’t know each other yet;
  • set a chosen friendship level across the whole dynasty;
  • make the entire family enemies;
  • remove social relationships across the dynasty while keeping family ties intact.

I don’t know why you need that, but there you go.

Note: The “Introduce relatives who don’t know each other yet” action only affects family members who are currently strangers to each other. Existing relationships between relatives are left exactly as they are.

Large dynasties

Before an operation starts, the mod will always ask for confirmation.

If your family tree is large, the game may temporarily slow down or appear frozen while the mod searches the full family network and processes relationships. This is normal.

Once the operation starts, just wait for the completion notification.

The mod has been tested on a living dynasty of 70+ Sims, so large families are not a problem by themselves. The bigger and more complicated the family tree, the longer processing may take.

Requirements

  • The Sims 4;
  • Script Mods enabled;
  • Custom Content and Mods enabled;
  • no DLC required.

Tested on game version 1.121.361.1020. The mod uses core relationship and genealogy systems and is expected to remain compatible with later patches. Please report any issues after game updates.

If something breaks

Open the Ctrl+Shift+C cheat console and enter:

kilmanda.myd.bugreport

The mod will create a diagnostic .txt file in your The Sims 4 user folder. Just attach it to your bug report.

It includes the game and mod versions, the detected in-game language, information about the last operation, detected Meet Your Dynasty files, and other data that can help figure out what happened.

If I need lastException.txt, I’ll ask you to attach it separately.

A huge thank you to Afrosolo for translating the entire mod into French, checking it as a native speaker, and being incredibly helpful during the localization update. 💚

Hi! I make mods for The Sims 4 because “this could be better” is enough reason to start a project. I focus on gameplay, UI and interactions. If anything in my mods starts annoying you — let me know.
