Medieval Activities

Custom medieval interaction for better historical gameplay

This .zip file contains multiple mods.

You will find Mining interaction as well as Medieval 'Phone' Interactive Activities (the Mining depends on the 'Phone' Interactive Activities).

Mining Package:

So, basically, what I did is  that, your Sim can go mining once a day, and when they return they will bring with themselves a bucket with mined materials. There are 13  different buckets with raw materials possible. The most common being iron, clay, kaolin, coal.  Clay and kaolin have an extra interaction on the bucket called 'take  them out'. Which will result in 35 lumps of clay or 15 kaolin. These can  be used as materials for my Pottery Wheel (re-download the updated version!). All other materials can be  exchanged for money! More precious materials are more rare to find  (after all we don't want our Sim to become rich overnight). Once your  Sim go to the mines, there will be a 24h cooldown period, for which the  interaction will be greyed out.

Raw Materials Possible To Find:

Clay - very common
Kaolin - very common
Iron - very common
Coal - very common
Salt - very common
Silver - common
Crystal - common
Opal - rare
Gold - rare
Sapphire - rare
Ruby - rare
Emerald - very rare

Diamond - very rare

Medieval Activities

The activities are under the Travel Category

With this mod, your historical Sims can enjoy some appropriate for their time activities like going to the church, witness execution, go hunting etc.

DISCLAIMER: These are all rabbit-hole activities.

There are 12 different activities. Aside from the ones you see on the screenshot, you can also:

“Enlist in the Crusade”, “Go hunting” and “Visit Nostradamus for prediction”, 'Collect Logs' and 'Go Mining'.

Only visiting the Market is paid since, well … you’re supposed to shop, that’s why you visit. Once you pick an acitvity your Sim will be gone for some time and they will return either with a moodlet, products in their inventory or new prediction (if they visit Nostradamus).

Participating in a Joust or Archery Tournament gives your Sim a chance to win a money price. For a Joust Tournament the price they might win is between 250-500$ and your Sim has 1/4 chance to win. For the Archery Contest the wining price is between 150-250$ and 1/3 is the chance to win.

The Market and Hunting interaction will result in new ingredients in your Sim’s inventory. The interactions are compatible with SCCO, so if you have the mod, your Sim can receive in their inventory other ingredients than the EA. If you don’t, then the Hunting interaction will result only in catching fish (since I didn’t come across EA meat ingredient). The Market interaction will give in your Sim’s inventory random veggies, meat, fish and cooking ingredients. The Hunting interaction will give in your Sim’s inventory meat and fish (or just fish if you don’t have SCCO). During hunting your Sim will gain fitness skill, gain fun, but lose very fast energy and hygiene.

“Enlist for Crusade” – this interaction sends your Sim on a Crusade, they will be away immediately for one day, and when they return they will bring home a random amount of money between 750-2000$. In comparison to the mod “Enlist for the Draft” by Kuttoe, my mod doesn’t have a possibility of a deadly end.

All other interactions give different moodlets and notifications, fill the fun and social needs. Beware that visiting the tavern might cause your Sim to get drunk and experience hangover.

'Gather Woods' - When you open the menu, you will see another rabbithole interaction added, which will enable you to go and gather woods. The interaction lasts between 2-3 hours, your Sim will lose faster hygiene and energy. Once your Sim is back you will receive a message, they will have a stressed moodlet, and in their inventory you can find 20 logs. They can be sold or used.

Logs Usage (Optional Files)

I added two OVERRIDE package files that you can download, if you want to use the logs. These files override the Fireplace and the Stove. Therefore, your Sims will need logs to light the fireplace, and to cook. Bear in mind that for the stove they will need logs every time they cook! So, maybe they will need to visit the forest often?!

KNOWN LIMITATION:

If you want to use the stove override, your lot needs to be Off-The-Grid.

This file doesn't override any recipe, so it should be safe to be used with SCCO!

OVERRIDEN FILES:

Fireplace_Light

stove_StartCrafting_OffTheGrid

stove_StartCrafting_OffTheGrid_RequiredIngredients

stove_Canning_OffTheGrid

herbalism_BrewPotion_Stove_Offthegrid

simPickerInteraction_GroupCooking_Stove_OffTheGrid

What is in the .zip file?

When you download this zip and unzip it, you will see 4 package files and 1 script file:

MiraiM_Fireplace_OVERRIDE

MiraiM_Stove_OffTheGrid_OVERRIDE

MiraiM_MiningMod

MiraiM_MedievalActivities

MiraiM_MedievalActivities script

If you don't want certain extra file you can delete it, and place the rest in your mods foulder. Know that all extra files depend on the Medieval Activities, do NOT delete the Medieval Activities. Medieval Activities package and script MUST be kept together!
