JOIN TEXT: If you’re interested in working in the transport industry, have good technical ability, like to travel and see the world, and are strong in the area of mathematics, then you might like to become a locomotive engineer. You could be transporting freight or passengers on short or long distances, and could drive a diesel, electric, or steam engine train.

LEVEL 1 - RAILROAD SECURITY GUARD

Days: Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun — Hours: 13:00 - 21:00 (8 hours) — Salary: ﹩20

Objectives: Charisma 2, Fitness 2, Logic 2

Description:
Everyone has to start somewhere, and you'll get a great sense of accomplishment protecting all those beautiful train cars as a security guard. Help out the occasional hobo, watch for vandalism, admire some particularly creative graffiti (then sadly arrange for its cleaning), and run off any delinquents endangering themselves and others by playing on the tracks.

LEVEL 2 - SIGNALLER

Days: Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun — Hours: 5:00 - 13:00 (8 hours) — Salary: ﹩35

Objectives: Charisma 4, Logic 4

Promotion Reward: 500 Simoleons

Description:
As a signaller, it is your duty to make sure the trains get from point A to point B on time and safely, accomplished by operating the points and signals from a signal box to control the movement of the trains. You're required to start early to ensure the placement of signals prior to the engineers moving the trains.

LEVEL 3 - RAILROAD CONDUCTOR

Days: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri — Hours: 6:00 - 14:00 (8 hours) — Salary: ﹩50

Objectives: Charisma 5, Logic 5

Promotion Reward: 750 Simoleons

Description:
You have more hands on duties now as a conductor, such as overseeing the loading and unloading of cargo, the safe and orderly transport of passengers, checking tickets and taking payments, assisting passengers as necessary, and announcing arriving stations.

LEVEL 4 - RAILYARD LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEER

Days: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri — Hours: 6:00 - 14:00 (8 hours) — Salary: ﹩60

Objectives: Charisma 7, Fitness 4

Promotion Reward: 1000 Simoleons

Description:
You're well acquainted with the overall operation of railyards, so maneuvering the trains around them should be a piece of cake! Not really, as you must learn all about the controls, monitor speed, air pressure, and battery and instrument usage of the locomotive. You must also collaborate with railroad conductors and yardmasters to ensure the efficiency of movement and maintaining operation schedules.

LEVEL 5 - YARDMASTER

Days: Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri — Hours: 5:00 - 15:00 (10 hours) — Salary: ﹩75

Objectives: Fitness 5, Logic 7

Promotion Reward: 1250 Simoleons

Description:
You are now familiar with the day to day, minute to minute operations of the railyard. It's now your responsibility to oversee the daily operations and assign duties to other railyard workers. Performing inspections, ensuring on time performance, and managing staff and routing plans, are just some of what it takes to be a successful yardmaster. You'll have to start early to prepare the daily routine, so get to bed at a decent time!

LEVEL 6 - JUNIOR LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEER

Days: Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun — Hours: 6:00 - 16:00 (10 hours) — Salary: ﹩90

Objectives: Logic 10

Promotion Reward: 1500 Simoleons

Description:
This is your chance to see the countryside, explore new worlds, and have the satisfaction of knowing you're helping sims and cargo arrive at their destinations safely and on time. The safety of your passengers, crew, and equipment is paramount, and you will work closely with your conductor to achieve this goal. As a junior engineer, your hours and days of work are not ideal, but the salary doesn't hurt!

LEVEL 7 - SENIOR LOCOMOTIVE ENGINEER

Days: Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu — Hours: 8:00 - 16:00 (8 hours) — Salary: ﹩150

Promotion Reward: 2500 Simoleons, 1000 Satisfaction Points

Description:
You've put in your time and can now reap the rewards with less hours and maximum salary. You have choice routes, and all the passengers know you by name and love having quick chats as you peruse the cars. Enjoy your well earned success!
