Description

As a player who loves letting my Sims try foods from all over the world, I always enjoy sending them out to different places just to order a meal... but I can never remember which recipes I've already unlocked!
I used to rely on alasEnkidu’s amazing "Recipe Notebook Mod". It was an absolute lifesaver for checking unlocked dishes so I didn't keep ordering the same things over and over again (haha!). Unfortunately, that mod hasn’t been updated since last year, so I decided to try making one myself.
Regrettably, I’m no programmer. Modifying XMLs and using the XmlInjector is pretty much the absolute limit of my technical skills. I couldn't create a brand-new, standalone notebook category like all those amazing veteran modders do. Instead, I had to piggyback on the Family Recipes page from EP13 (Growing Together).
What this mod does:
  • It integrates all 27 unlockable recipes from City Living into the Family Recipes notebook.
  • Once your Sim eats a dish, the corresponding entry will be added to their notebook immediately.

All strings are pulled directly from the game, so theoretically, no translation is needed.

⚠️ Important Notes:
  • Not retroactive: Recipes unlocked before installing this mod will not show up automatically. Your Sim will need to eat that dish one more time to trigger the notebook entry.
  • Requirements: Naturally, this mod requires both the City Living and Growing Together Expansion Packs!
Additionally, this mod requires the XmlInjector to function.
Special thanks to Sims 4 Studio and Lot 51’s TDESC Web Tool. Without these amazing tools, I would never have been able to complete this project!
 
Future Plans:
  • I plan to gradually add more unlockable recipes from other packs into this mod.
  • Maybe one day, when I finally master the programming language, I’ll be able to create a brand-new, standalone notebook category of my own!
