This mod will allow your horses to pass down parent genes to foals, resulting in semi-realistic genetics for your bred horses.

EGO Features

• Applies a genetics algorithm to active household foals at birth
• Applies rudimentary recessive/dominant genetics (tobiano is dominant, for example)
• Weighted coat complexity algorithm: generates coats from simple to complex
• Mixes coat patterns and colors from both parents(pattern A and color B, for example)
• Mutates patterns by picking different textures in the same phenotype (if a horse is phenotyped as Tobiano, the foal has a chance to inherit the same white spotting or a different white spotting in the Tobiano category)
• randomly generates face and leg socks for extra variety

Is this mod safe for my game?

EGO pulls directly from the TS4 coat creating architecture to cast a new coat at your foal's birth, using TS4 materials and methods. If EGO fails for any reason, TS4 will default to the copy-parent function. Unless TS4 radically changes how horse pelts are stored, the mod should be safe to add and remove from your game at will. (Always exercise precaution when using mods though!)

If removed from your game, your horses will keep their crazy coats, but those coats will get copied to the foal, as normal.

Can I edit my bred foals?

Yep! The modded coats function just like regular coats. You can paint on horses and edit layer colors, as usual. However, this feature does not work with the Genetics tester in CAS. (You have to breed a foal in-game.)

Requirements and Incompatibilities

• Requires Horse Ranch.
• Requires XML Injector.

No known incompatibilities. It should also work with custom textures. If someone else makes a horse breeding mod, this probably won't work with it, haha!

Current Issues & Feedback

• Some marking swatches are un-recolorable. I'll see if I can fix it!
• Any bug issues or feedback for development can be directed to this form or CurseForge's issue tracker.
• Some non-tobiano white markings can blend… a bit strangely. Working on it!
