Elves of Willow Creek

Hello,

I've never modded before, but I really wanted Elves in my game. There is a pre-existing Elves mod by pakmun that hasn't been updated in 2 years, so I created this one to replace it.

This mod centers around 3 traits: High Elf, Elf, and Half Elf, which act as occult trait flavors that modify your sim! Traits can be added through MCCC or "traits.equip_trait trait_<HighElf/Elf/HalfElf>"

Elves are beautiful, magical, and embody mystical natures and the arts. These traits really shine when combined with other occults. These traits are technically reward traits, so townies cannot randomly have them.

Mystical natures
Elves are almost always magical in nature, and they come in several forms. Witches, Werewolves, Fairies, Mermaids, and Ghosts all gain boosts when they are also an Elf. These boosts stack with bloodline traits, so an Elf with an ancient magical bloodline is better than a regular witch with the same level bloodline trait.

The exception to this rule are aliens, which I excluded from this occult type, and vampires, which are the antithesis of Elves. An Elf turned into a Vampire will find undead life harder to accustom to, and will experience increased power and thirst drain, as well as decreased power gain.

Nature and the arts
Elves gain large boosts to gardening and animal related skills, and minor boosts to creative skills. They are also skilled dancers and renowned for their archery.

Inheritance
The Elf traits are genetic, with a very basic framework that I hope to add more complexity to in the future. Any Elf that has a child with non-elf sim has a chance to produce a Half-Elf, otherwise one of the parent traits (or no trait if one parent has none) are taken.

Add-on: Elf lifespan
This add-on makes it so Elves live longer than normal sims.
High Elf: 5x longer
Elf: 3x longer
Half-Elf: 1.5x longer

This add-on is tentatively compatible with chiefunicorn's occult lifespans mod (highly reccomend). They modify the same file but I didn't encounter any issues with my (admittedly brief) testing. Please let me know if you encounter any issues!

Requirements:
Requires Lot51 Core Library for trait inheritance.
Base game compatible. Features for packs will appear only if those packs are owned.

Mod reccomendations:
Khitsule's unlock pointy ears mod combined with Mantidae's pointed ear replacer for very pointy elf ears!

Future Plans:
I am being really ambitious with these. I have no planned timeline, only ideas, but I'd love to turn this into a fully fleshed out mod. Feel free to leave any suggestions in the comments!
