Choose Painting Style (Texture)
This Mod adds a Picker Menu to Easels where you can choose which Painting you want to craft instead of a random one.
How this Mod works:
On Easels you will find a new Pie Menu called "Choose Painting Style", which has three Interactions:
- Paint on a large Canvas
- Paint on a medium Canvas
- Paint on a small Canvas
There you will see the Textures of all available Paintings from the six Categories Abstract, Classics, Impressionism, Pop Art, Realism, and Surrealism. The Preview Icons are the actual Texture so the Icons for the Large Canvas look a bit weird, but you get what Painting it is going to be.
You can paint all Paintings you have the required Skill level for. You can even paint the ones where your Skill level is too high and are not available when you normally paint.
Technically the Sim gets a hidden individual Buff with a 2hrs Duration, which should be long enough for the Sim to go to the Easel and start the chosen Painting (Texture). The Buff gets removed as soon as the Sim starts crafting the Painting.
Special Paintings
Beside the Paintings from the six Categories, I added those from locked Interactions etc as well. The only Requirement to paint these are the actual Painting Skill level they need.
In "Paint on a large Canvas" added:
- Large Illustrative Painting (from Freelancer Career)*
- Figure Painting (requires the Discover University Pack)
In "Paint on a medium Canvas" added:
- All Emotional Paintings (Angry, Flirty, Confident, Playful, Sad)*
- Grilled Cheese*
- Mathematic (requires Logic Skill 5-8)*
- Medium Illustrative Painting (from Freelancer Career)*
- Landscape Painting (requires Outdoor Retreat Pack)
In "Paint on a small Canvas" added:
- Freelancer Art (Logos from Freelancer Career)*
- Small Illustrative Painting (from Freelancer Career)*
* Be aware that those are usually only for the Sketchpad or locked behind Emotions etc. To prevent having to add custom Recipes (see below why), I let the Textures be painted via the Classic Recipe. This means the Painting Title is Large/Medium/Small Classic Painting. You can rename them after, if you want.
Important to Know
Replacement Mods
Mods that override/replace the original Textures should be compatible with this Mod as long as they only override the actual Textures and no Tunings.
Custom Paintings Mods
Mods that add custom Paintings as an addition to the original ones, will not show up in my Picker Menu. That Menu only works for original ingame Paintings.
Removing the Mod
This Mod does not add custom Recipes, which means you can remove the Mod without all already crafted Paintings (after installing this Mod) being removed from Saves.
Mod Conflicts/Compatibility
This will not work with Mods that add more Paintings by overriding the original Painting Style Tunings.
