With Auto Reading Skill Book, Sims can autonomously choose to read Skill Books available in their bookshelves, allowing them to naturally develop their skills without you having to constantly tell them to study.

You decide what they can learn — and your Sims decide when it's time to study.

✨ What This Mod Does

Normally, The Sims 4 provides Skill Books for many different skills, but Sims rarely make meaningful use of them autonomously.

This mod changes that by allowing Sims to autonomously read Skill Books stored in bookshelves.

Instead of manually telling your Sim to read every time you want them to improve a skill, you can simply prepare the books they need and let them learn naturally as part of their everyday life.

📖 How to Use This Mod

Important: This mod does not automatically purchase or add Skill Books to your bookshelf.

You will need to decide which skills you want your Sims to develop and purchase the appropriate Skill Books yourself.

Simply:

Click on a Bookshelf.
Purchase the Skill Books for the skills you want your Sims to learn.
Keep those books available in the bookshelf.
Your Sims can then autonomously choose to read them when appropriate.

For example, if you want your Sim to improve their Handiness, purchase the appropriate Handiness Skill Books and keep them in the household bookshelf.

If you want them to work on Cooking, add Cooking Skill Books instead.

This gives you control over the direction of your Sims' development without having to control every individual reading session.

You choose what your Sims should learn by stocking the bookshelf — they decide when to study.

🧠 Smarter Reading Autonomy

Sims won't simply drop everything and spend their entire day studying.

The mod includes additional autonomy conditions so Sims will only choose to read Skill Books when their Fun and Energy needs are in a comfortable range.

A cooldown system is also included to prevent Sims from repeatedly reading Skill Books too frequently.

The goal is to make studying feel like a natural part of your Sim's autonomous daily routine rather than replacing everything else they want or need to do.
