• No music is required, Sims can dance together on the rug, just click on the rug, and "Dance Here" option will appear, when the Sims start dancing, click on the person you want to dance together, and choose "invite them to dance". 
• Can be moved at any time or placed in a Sims inventory and more storage place
• Can be given as a gift (Need Seasons Pack)
• More Dance Options:
  Base Game: add Duet Dance
  Lovestruck Expansion Pack: add Seductive Dance (If you don't have this pack, then this feature will not be available.)
  Horse Ranch Pack: Sims can dance solo or in a group to Cowpoke Dance without music on rug. (If you don't have this pack, then this feature will not be available.)
• Has sales activity feature, that allows for short-term sales events to be conducted at any indoor or outdoor venue, where various items from the rug inventory can be sold.
• Can place my Sale Wooden Sign in the center of the rug to add a hawking atmosphere.
• Can be set as an heirloom. (Need Life and Death expansion pack)
