If you want to add permanent decorations (items that customers won't buy) to these retail shelves, follow these steps:

1. Enable the bb.moveobjects cheat.

2. Place your decorative item on the floor and raise it to the height of the shelf (using the '9' key).

3. Fill the actual slots of the shelf with "dummy" items (random objects to occupy the space).

4. Using the Alt key and The Sims 3 Camera, slide your decor piece into its final position on the shelf.

5. Delete the "dummy" items.

Result: The decor will stay on the shelf visually, but customers will only buy the items you later snap directly into the shelf slots!
