You don't have to start a new game - just replace the Mod and load your old game!
Important: If the Air-Trench-Bug still occours in your game because of your old savegame-files do this:
Reset the POI of the Sea Trader by looking at the POI, then open the console with "F1", type "cr" and press Return.
Then dive on the ground, enter the water-free-zone and hit the ground with fists, tools or mellee-weapons!
