I'm a really avid turn-based strategy gamer, and I realized almost immediately that you could adept Starcraft 2 into a turn-based strategy game using the editor.
My mod, as I have it currently set up, is TBS in the style of X-Com UFO Defense, or the Combat Mission series of games.
Ideally, this would be a mod that is compatible with any Stracraft 2 melee map, but since the mod functionality is not in as of yet, I decided to do a demonstration level using the map Metalopolis.**
To play this map, use the Stracraft 2 Map Patcher here. The TBS gametype is set up to be compatable with the melee settings. There's no units in there by default, so you have to launch it via battle.net and the map patcher. Works for 1-4 players and works with the AI.
Right now, its just a gametype. Ideally, I'd love to add things from my all my favorite TBS games into this mod. Heros, emergent heros, and items will be next on the list to add.
Please test this map out and let me know if you have any problems. Also, I would love to hear your feedback/ideas of what to add.
Edit 1: The Turn system is finally working, after tons of zerg-related issues. Next to be implemented is an emergent hero system based on combat. Any other ideas of where to go from here always appreciated!
Edit 2: Was still having major problems with distinguishing between pausing normal units and just slowing morphing units, this new version should finally be working.
